I don't think you're too bad off actually. It seems like it generally takes 8 business days to complete a RFE anyway. So I'm willing to bet you'll have your RFE finished about the same time as me. I'm guestimating it's going to be on or around the 11th.

So I wouldn't start worrying too much until the middle of next week.

I just really need to put in for the vacation time at work (Wal-Mart). Everyone else is asking for their time and the longer I wait the harder it will be to get the time off.

After our bad K1 experience, I know I HAVE to be at the interview with my husband!

I think you and I are on similar time lines. So I'll toss out my break down of when things should happen. This is all based on the averages of others, so it's obviously not an exact science. So far it's been pretty close though.

Anyway...

Case complete: 5-11 (Add 8 business days to when your RFE arrived).

Interview Assigned: 5-24 (Add 9 business days to case complete).

Interview Date: 7-19 (Add 8 weeks to Interview assigned date).

So I would expect an interview some time in mid July. This can of course change drastically, depending on when case completes, but it's unlikely to do so. But at least tracking the averages let's me know when I should start worrying.

Edit: Forgot to mention if we're lucky enough to case complete this week, then we could expect an Interview around the last week of June. Again, it's unlikely to do so.

I keep telling myself July would be better because we would have more paychecks... LOL!

But I really miss my husband... got back in the states March 7 after 16 days with him.

I am trying to be positive about this in any way I can. Airfare is so high this summer!

And if we DO have to wait til July, it may be easier to get the vacation time than at the end of June (everyone seems to want to take theirs around July 4).

I just don't know if the Jordan embassy schedules any appointments the last week of the month like some embassies do. I really don't want to wait til the 2nd week of June to get the date! :bonk:

Waiting for SIF....checking it like every hour...I know it can't be this soon, after all, NVC just received everything last week. But so anxious. It has been 2 very stressful weeks for us already because of other issues...just want something exciting to distract us.

Congrats to everyone who got SIF and/or interview date. Best wishes to everyone's journey. I can't wait till the date I can finally see my husband every day....

Good luck!

This makes me cringe. To me, filling in every blank was a guarantee that nothing else could be added at a later date by someone else. Husby and I knew exactly what we were signing and agreeing to. Parents dead: N/A. Children: NONE. Military Service: No, then N/A. Mailing Address: Same as #2. Etc.

But we all got through NVC alive, so there's a bit of wiggle room about this.

According to the instructions on immigrantvisas.state.gov:

"Please fill out the DS-230 Part I and Part II completely. If a question does not apply to the applicant then the applicant must mark it with “N/A”."

But yes there is some wiggle room out of considerations of "common sense".

Then again "common sense" and "USCIS/NVC" usually do not get used together much!

Yes, he really is wonderful and worth the waiting, but some days I wonder why I din't just move to Jordan. It would have been so much easier!

It looks like we have the same timeline right now. AVR says my checklist was received the 29th! :)

We will have to keep in touch on this!

I thought about moving to Nigeria as well. But I really have a good job! I do know that if, God forbid, he isn't given a visa, I will CERTAINLY be moving with my husband! This whole living apart thing is working on my nerves. We should definitely keep in touch, although I think that you'll be finished before me. Stay encouraged, you'll be finished soon.

Did anyone do this? When they got a false RFE for the DS-230 after the I864 was submitted (because the DS-230 wasn't submitted at the time) did you submit the DS-230 as a checklist response or via the normal route, meaning to the Attn:CMR? I am thinking that if I had submitted the DS-230 as a checklist response, it would have been entered quicker. Any thoughts?

 I did the exact same thing you did, by mailing to attn:cmr. On april 29, avr said they received our checklist response and then on april 30, the checklist cover letter was emailed to us. It confused me at first because I didn't understand what they meant by checklist response. I have no idea if it would've been reviewed faster, but I think I remember SeanJohn saying something about them processing his RFE super quick. Could be a shortcut to just mail it attn:dr? :)
