S&ET - is the expedited petition from Ethiopia yours? I can't remember the VJ member but I read the post and it was for humanitarian reasons. Considering the climate over there, understandable.

This process is hard and it is overwhelming, don't take it to heart. We all know and understand the hardships that different people face. 'Friendly' countries are not always easy. We waited nearly 5 months for our NOA2. I think the problem with countries like Canada is there Consulates are also backed which adds to the stress. When you've waited so long, you get to the end only to find out that you've another wait for an interview date ... I'm sure no one meant to offend ...

It's just frustration, hon. It's hard not to be frustrated when the situation's not in your control. I had a nice little rant about K1s and high fraud consulates. Doesn't mean I have anything against them. It just means that was a rough day. Focus on getting through NVC. Your situation is your own and there's nothing wrong with that.

I agree. If you are mentioning their present address then obviously they are alive.

I feel leaving a few fields blank gives the form an uncluttered and easy-to-read feel.

Of course you do not want to leave any necessary fields blank but there are a few you can leave blank. For instance, details on military service. If you answer "No" for military service, why bother to clutter the fields underneath it with N/A?

My lawyer left several fields blank in the I-130 and it got approved.

This makes me cringe. To me, filling in every blank was a guarantee that nothing else could be added at a later date by someone else. Husby and I knew exactly what we were signing and agreeing to. Parents dead: N/A. Children: NONE. Military Service: No, then N/A. Mailing Address: Same as #2. Etc.

But we all got through NVC alive, so there's a bit of wiggle room about this.

Waiting for SIF....checking it like every hour...I know it can't be this soon, after all, NVC just received everything last week. But so anxious. It has been 2 very stressful weeks for us already because of other issues...just want something exciting to distract us.

Congrats to everyone who got SIF and/or interview date. Best wishes to everyone's journey. I can't wait till the date I can finally see my husband every day....

Please don't be disappointed, I'm sure the poster did not mean to offend anyone. I can see why they would say it...as someone who had to wait 16 months for a NOA 2-for no given reason!!!!. I think the biggest issue is that there is no one else to vent our frustrations on-except our VJ families. My own family/friends/coworkers don't have a clue what we are going through, and it's just nice to open up to people who are in the same situation. So don't take it to heart what you see here, each individual case is different, and we will all make it through ok.

MSPtoYYZ I definitely agree with you. We are here to share our experience in order to find out how the process go when you share your information and your experience they should appreciate it sometimes some of us have a special need, each individual case is different.

I can understand if I found myslef in the same situation. All I can do pray for me and for everyone VJ family a speedy journey to make it through to be with our loved ones. Thank you very much for your thoughtful and wisdom MSPtoYYZ I really appreciated.

Did anyone do this? When they got a false RFE for the DS-230 after the I864 was submitted (because the DS-230 wasn't submitted at the time) did you submit the DS-230 as a checklist response or via the normal route, meaning to the Attn:CMR? I am thinking that if I had submitted the DS-230 as a checklist response, it would have been entered quicker. Any thoughts?

When I started calling about my RFE on the 23rd and the first operator told me my husband's birth certificate was wrong, I asked for a supervisor. By the time I spoke to 2 more operators, I knew I needed to send the original marriage contract.

Sooo, I just spoke to an operator who said we are under a supervisor review by my request (I didn't ask for a review, just to SPEAK to one and never got to do so)! Now it may be another 3-8 business days before the review is done!

I am so upset! I didn't ask for review and now my marriage contract is there (which is the last thing we needed to finish) and I don't think we will case complete this week!

I have the WORST luck!

I don't think you're too bad off actually. It seems like it generally takes 8 business days to complete a RFE anyway. So I'm willing to bet you'll have your RFE finished about the same time as me. I'm guestimating it's going to be on or around the 11th.

So I wouldn't start worrying too much until the middle of next week.

Hello people. Just thought I'd write this - SYDNEY CONSULATE ROCKS. Received my interview date. It is June 1st!!

The universe is listening. We are hoping if my visa is approved that I would leave here in July. So, the timing's perfect because I have to give 4 weeks notice at work.
