If the AVR has confirmed case complete, then no need to worry. Produce the PCC at the time of the interview and you'll be fine. Hope you get an interview date next week!

Thank you. I called AVR again and confirmed case is completed on May 6. I still can't login to NVC website. I am just a little confuse why a check-list response/RFE after case complete?

Hopefully I can have this cleared on Monday...and interview date next week too.

Thank you for every one's help and good luck to every one that's waiting for SIF/interview or have interview soon!

So I just got the checklist response letter with the REF even after talking to a supervisor who said I am not required to send my birth certificate and marriage certificate as I am the petitioner for my husband.

Now my case is under review by a supervisor. My question is should I just send in the documents they are asking me to send instead of waiting for this review to be over??

This is so confusing!! AVR and operator confirmed case completed, and I thought it is all over and all I am waiting for is the interview date...

But just now, I received an e-mail Check-list response from NVC saving we need the Police Certificate from Hong Kong. I already noted on our cover letter in our DS230 package saying it is requested and sent to HK US Embassy already, because Hong Kong Police Department won't mail it to NVC....now what should I do? I am so confused now.

Sigh...and I thought all I am waiting for is interview date...and now a check-list response for something I've already requested and sent to the embassy...sigh...

Now I need to call NVC on Monday first thing to clear this up...hopefully I won't miss the June interview assign date....this whole process is so confusing and depressing...I can't wait for this to be over and my hubby here with me....

Hi, we are new in this forum and in the process of getting the case complete (hopefully soon). NVC received our DS230 package on May 4th. One thing we included for NVC to prove we applied for the PCC is the receipt from the Police Department. It doesn't look like much but I remember seeing somewhere that they want to see it. Could that be what they are looking for from you? But I agree, it is all really confusing. Even their website said that the Police Department from Hong Kong will not give the PCC to the applicant but send directly to NVC or Embassy. Good luck on your process. You are almost there!!

Tanya, dear, wait for the review. Have the requested documents ready, in the envelope, for you to grab and rush to the post office. Maybe the review will clear you and lead to CC. Or maybe it will show something else as missing. I don't like the latter, but it's a possibility. Wait it out, hon. Whatever the outcome, it'll be alright.

Hi everyone,

My mom's DS-230 packet is being reviewed currently, so I am not sure if I could join this discussion. She is from Romania, and I am really hoping that we are going to get a July interview (if her case is completed by June, of course).

Just one question, the NVC schedules the interview, right?

Thanks.

Oh God... This is the week...I am praying for all my folks with interviews this week..

kari: any updates with your co sponsors ??

No, Ma'am. I'll go talk with my old boss at the hospital tomorrow. There are always openings somewhere for nurses. I relied on a joint sponsor because I don't want to be away from my son at night. If there's an opening on my old unit or in the ER, I should be able to work only on the weeks he's at his dad's house. Really, I only need to work one more day per week to put me happily above the guidelines. So working an extra 3 nights every other week would be perfect. If that doesn't work, I'm thinking of asking my doc for a temporary raise or to see if there is some additional work I can do from home -- billing or administrative stuff or something that doesn't violate HIPAA. I'm confident there is a way to do this on my own. Thank you for thinking of me.

Sachi!!! It's Monday (for most of the world)! I'm so excited!!!

Hey Guys,

I am helping someone with CP and the gentleman is from Honduras. He petitioned for his wife and some of the documents they have collected are in the local native language. Now, when I read the NVC translation requirement, which is:

Translation Requirements

All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

* Translation is accurate, and

* Translator is competent to translate.

am I reading it right if I interpret it as that one needs to supply translation ONLY if the document is NOT in English or the official language of the country, in this case Honduras?
