OK!!! I AM BACK!!

Sent in documents that were needed now waiting for case complete. WOOHHOOOO LOL

Welcome back!

I can't believe it!! I just can't believe it!!

One hour ago, I am still so depressed because I can still see the "Receipt Page" on NVC login. And now, I got the Sign In Fail!!!!

I just called the NVC and the operator confirmed that the case is just completed this morning. What an amazing Anniversary Gift. All we are waiting for now is the interview date.

Keep trying and keep hoping, everyone!! It has been a very long journey for us and full of challenges and difficulties--with his laid off from work, my health issues, and so on. But, I am literally in tears when I see that red "sign in fail" page, and again when the operator confirmed the case is just completed this morning.

Thank you for all the support on VJ!

Best wishes to every one's journey!

Grats!

Here's my take, sorry to everyone but seriously ... why bother harassing NVC when you have a CC and an interview date assigned? Why not just destress for a bit?

There are others (and we've all been there) who are still waiting for CC and/or an interview date. Clogging NVC's one telephone line makes it harder for people who need to get through and speak to an operator. Or maybe I'm just not as obsessive but there does come a time when you have to let go and not let the process consume you.

While I do understand your concern, it is not about obsessing. I will most certainly destress when the package arrives to the embassy safely. That packet contains our ONLY English translated copy and the ONLY original Arabic copy of our marriage certificate. You have to understand that in Morocco it is an incredibly lengthy process to get all of the stamps, approvals, and necessary documentations. It took us several weeks last summer and we would not want to have to go through that again. It is distressing to me to think that it could possibly be lost. It is not exactly easy for me or my husband to obtain another copy with the certification stamps. So, it is not a frivolous phone call when I want to be sure they have taken care of the documents we have entrusted to the NVC. Since other packages appear on the DHL website but our's did not, I have an understandable amount of concern. However, I have just as much a right to make a phone call as anyone else. My call lasted all of 45 seconds so it's not like it caused anyone to have to wait an undue amount of time and the NVC is open extended hours. As we were going through the entire NVC process I made only a couple of phone calls to clarify what we were doing, as things progressed normally as VJ predicted. It is only when things happen out of the "norm" that I am making any inquiries so I don't feel like I'm taking away from anyone else by following through with my case.

Well said!

I also worry because they have the original of our Arabic marriage contract. Hubby still has his and there is one on file with the court, but that is something special and important to me. So, I agree with your concern!

I can still sign-in! :bonk:

Anyone else get finished today?

I hope your package arrives there safely. NVC has a phone number and we have every right to call it as many times as we want. I don't see why we should be limited to how many times we can call them.

This process is grueling. I can't wait to be done.

Been waiting for a interview date and its frustrating :bonk:

I relate to Deb+Steve on this one; sans the phone calling thing. I think over stressing just slows the perceptual clock down. It'll happen whenever it happens.

As for the calling bit though, knock yourselves out. I only like having the AVR depress me once a day, so chances are you're not keeping me from my evening ritual.

Anyway, we've all got our own methods.

I wouldn't let myself call today either. I am off tomorrow, so I am making myself wait. Or trying to wait. Hope I can refrain when I get off work at 10 tonight!

Another note about calling though... the operator I spoke with yesterday told me to call whenever I wanted, so I really don't think they care if we call. After all, that's what they are there to do!

Vanessa, don't worry about what Deb wrote. It actually was uncalled for. 'harass NVC'? you've got to be kidding me. Everyone obsesses and is anxious in every step of this process. These threads should be used to post your stesses and worries and get help and support. You have my support. ;) You can call them as many times as you want, you can check the DHL website as much as you want. Gathering documents is something no one wants to do over again. The NVC is open till midnight, don't see how thats an inconvience for some. Keep us all posted :P
