Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone that has filled in the new affadavit of support form for AOS coud help me please?

In part 5 under question 21 a it says enter the number from line 10 which is the principal immigrant sponsored from Part 3. This is the spouse of course. Then again in question 21c it says enter 1 if you are married. But if you enter 1 then the total household size become 3. But my wife is only sponsoring me on the affidavit so the household size should only be 2.

Could someone who has filled out the NEW I-864 please let me know what they put for these 2 questions?

Thanks

Tony

The New I-864 Paart 5 is divided into two sections

21. Your Household Size - DO NOT COUNT ANYONE TWICE

In your case,

Part 5. Sponsor's household size. Presumable your spouse is the sponsor, you the immigrant

Persons you are sponsoring in this affidavit = 1:

a. Enter the number you entered on line 10 = 1

Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit

b. Yourself = 1

c. If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse.= 0 (because the sponsored immigrant who might be your spouse has been counted already above. This section applies to people who are joint sponsor's who may be married but are sponsoring someone who is not necessarily a member of their household)

Toneman,

Look in the instruction on page 6 under Part 5: Household Size. It states to be sure not to enter anyone person more than once since some may fall under two different catagories. In your case, just don't make an entry for your spouse. You should be fine.
