Hi all,

I am currently trying to sort out my huge folder of information and am trying to determine what order I need things in.

Specifically as far as I understand you see 2 people (in london anyway) - what am I providing the first person (people tend to say that they give them "documents" but speficially which documents? Everything I have? Affadavit and police cert and DS230 part 2? (You get the idea)

The obvious follow up to this is what do i provide when actually having the interview part? My understanding here you give them nothing unless they ask for it? e.g. evidence of relationship

Any advise appreciated.

Regards,

Arch

Hey, I had my interview on Monday (review is in my timeline). You get called to the first window. They couldn't find my P3 documents so I ended up giving my copies. They copied those and told me to sign (mine were blank). My folder was in exact order so I knew where ALL my information was. The lady was really patient and asked me for each document from the checklist one my one. I gave them to her and she read them. When she asked for the I-134 I gave that..she asked for the transcripts and I gave those. I told her I had a letter from his employer and a payslip print out from them also .. I asked if she wanted them she said sure. She gave me the slip to pay for the visa's and come back. Did that and she then gave me a courier slip. I then had to wait again for the actual interview.

Wait was about 20-30 mins. The CO had all the docs. He was sooo nice. It was more like a conversation than anything else. I was approved and then went to pay the courier.

Oh and you don't need the DS-230 part 2

Anything else ya wanna know please ask. Come on over the to the "United Kingdom" section. There's an interview thread there.

What exactly do you mean by transcripts? I take it from what you are saying that it is a good idea to take copies of all the forms filled in in packet 3?

Just to clarify then, what you give to the first person is everything off the checklist (police cert, evidence of support, photograph etc...)

Also is there a machine to do america sized photos there? or do i need to get one done beforehand?

Thanks,

Arch

There is a machine there and it costs £4 so make sure you have change. I don't know what time your interview is but if you are leaving your phone at Gould's I believe you can get pictures there but I don't know how much they are.

Re tax transcripts.. I can't even tell you exactly what they are - I think your other half can explain better than me. I had the W2's which I gave her first..she then asked for the transcripts. I said "these?" showing her what else I had and she said yeah. It looked like some kind of breakdown.

And yes, you give the first person all the docs from the checklist.

Yes, take a copy of the documents you submitted just in case. I'm so glad I did!

hmmm not sure i have tax transcripts, or if they will be relevant as my other half has just changed jobs.

Good news on the photos tho, beats shelling out £25 which i ended up paying last time for 4!

Yes, but there was a VJ post very recently that the photo machine in the embassy was out of order the day they were there. So that option is not risk free!

Get your other half to call IRS and order her tax transcipts for last couple of years. They are free and take about 3 weeks to arrive. (Changing jobs is irrelevant).

And, didn't someone also recently report the coffee bar was no more? That was the most shocking thing I've read on VJ this week!

3 week wait is not an option at this point, interview is in 2 weeks ;)

I think i will get my photos done before hand, just incase things are broken, too much of a gamble. They will have to do without transcripts considering the amount of stuff we are providing.

Can I just say about the transcripts that they FAXED them to Ricky in a matter of minutes. He scanned them in and I printed them. That's what I took with me.

ETA the link to the UK interview thread HERE

ETA (again) I'm not sure if "they" will really have to do without what they require.. I was specifically ask for it but I don't know if other's have been. As I said above...it should just take a phonecall and hopefully they can fax it to your other half :)

I must correct myself. They faxed it to Ricky directly to his email and he forwarded it me...not that that makes any difference but anyway...

you are a star, better safe than sorry.

I cant find ANYWHERE on the US embassy site where they say the require them, not something they can really cause a fuss over if they have the full tax return i feel.

ok so research shows that the tax transcript seems to just be a replacement for the tax return if the original is lost.

Considering i have the originals from the last 2 years, I think I am probably ok.
