Yeah....but even though we got married in the PI...I guarentee we spent more than the $1010 for the wedding (my ticket to go to the PI was more than that...but the military paid for it )

there are good and bad points of each visa. The CR-1 isn't cheaper to do in the end, but the end result is better right away at least. I guess going through the CR-1 process...the hits on the money are spread out and not all at once like the AOS

And just when you get healed from that $1,010 wound....2 years later that same wonderful USCIS outfit pillages you for another $650 to change your 2 yr GC to a 10 yr.....and undoubtedly that fee will be doubled by then.....

Congrats on the wedding!! We're down to our last 2 weeks until we are together again. I cant wait for that...no more talking on the computer!

Also, yes I would do the forms in her married name if she wanted it changed.

Warm clothes yes....she will have to learn to wear them .... turning up the heat much more isnt much of an option here...I already pay out the @$$ for heat....last year my "budget" payment was $316 a month....luckily I didnt have to pay the full 10 months for the budget payments.

I do have a big thick mink blanket for the bed that I know she will be using all the time. At least my room stays warmer than the rest of the house though.

yes she still needs to see a civil surgeon, she is excempted from the full medical exam but the civil surgeon needs to verify her vaccination record (DS-3025) from St. Lukes and transcribe it to Form I-693 (see instruction below), most civil surgeons would insist that she takes the full medical and charge you at least $250 but since her medical is still valid, civil surgeon's certification in Form I-693 is really all you need, this costs about $20 to $30 only. Go over the link I referred you to and you should be able to find a civil surgeon in your area that does the transcribing only.

11. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. Regardless of if you are exempt from a medical exam, you are still required to complete certain portions of the I-693 and have a Civil Surgeon certify the form (and seal it in an evelope). Specifically, you will complete Part 1 (Information about you) of the I-693 and provide both the form and your DS-3025 (if you have it, proving your vaccination history) and any proof of required vaccinations that were completed prior to entering the US. If you do not have a copy of your DS-3025 you will need to provide sufficient evidence of your vaccination history to the Civil Surgeon (talk to the civil surgeon's office to discuss what vaccination records they accept as proof). If you do not have proof of your vaccination history the Civil Surgeon may insist on re-administering all the required vaccinations prior to completing the I-693. Once the Civil Surgeon has has verified that all required vaccinations have been performed, they will complete form I-693 Part 2 (the vaccination section) and Part 5 (the Civil Surgeon's Certification). They will then seal the form in an envelope and return it to you.
