we would love to be invited if you're okay with it, i just want to take some picture of us at major ceremony of newly acquired friends from this vj forums.

let me know guys, i would greatly appreciate this.

this might be strange request asking to be invited, since i think it might be customary to to be invited if you have some relation with the couple.

I cant see it hurting the case to have additional caucasian faces in the ceremony photos..many have had issue for not having friends or family there.... only thing I can see that could be an issue is if someone in the photo has been accused of visa fraud.... take caution in who you invite regardless of the validity of the CO's accusuations about them.... If the CO has accused someone of visa fraud, and then they see them in a photo with you.... the slim chance that they recognize them could cause you some delays... don't think a CO won't think about guilt by association...

Scott, I think you miss read his post, I think he was wanting to know if anyone here was having a party while he was going to be here and he wanted to be invited to THEIR party, not him having a party and inviting people to it. I might be mistaken, but that is how I took his post. Jerome

W-7 forms

to detract from the topic a bit,

One of the requirement for this for is you have to be denied of a SSN

and have it in writing.

you can find this in the Publication 1915 Rev 4 2010, number 6

on irs.gov

So this form is pretty useless right now damn

w-7 is just a form that lets your foreign spouse get a ITIN (individual taxpayer identification number) in place of a social security number. I filled one out last year for my wife, when we were still in Vietnam before we got her visa, and I filed her jointly with me on my taxes and I got a hefty refund back. She never had a social security number or has never been denied before we got her Visa to come here.

yeah if you haven't filed your 2009 taxes already you can submit the w-7 form and file married filing jointly and it would put you in a different tax bracket which can get you a good size refund depending on how you claim on your employment form. If you filed it already you can probably get it amended to add your wife on.

No I didn't take any tax course.. I just did my taxes like normal and read their instructions. You submit the w-7 form with the 1040 form that you submit to the IRS. On the 1040 form leave your spouse's social security area blank. On the w-7 form instructions it will show you were to submit it. After they receive it they will give your wife an ITIN number and fill in that number on your 1040 form. Once they do that they will forward the 1040 to the IRS. I don't know how long it take for the IRS to get it. I received my refund about 6 weeks after I submitted everything.
