Seconded!

I remember posting something back in January or February about how I hated it when posters who finally make it through the immigration process simply stop posting. Well...now I get it! Now that I'm working and spend my evenings with my wife, I just don't have much time to post on VJ any more. I still love y'all...I just don't have much time! There are a few friends I have who I really want to continue regular email conversations with too, but just haven't had the time to do it.

I used to be a late night VJer though.

Well some of us didn't get a green card when we entered the country, so... :P

I tend not to post much in the evenings since I'm busy with family stuffs...mostly during my work day (ha ha).

Once I go for citizenship next year, I likely won't post much anymore. VJ as been such a big help and I'm glad we found the sight just befroe we started the immigration process. As time passes, I find I can't remember the exact details of stuff from 3 yrs ago (like what I wore :P ) and my info might not be as relevant.

This site has been my saving grace! You get so much different info from sites (and numbers) and often the official sites omit important facts. This site helps so much because you can just ask someone who did it. I'm totally over googling about immigration. That's soooo yesteryear.

I can't say I stay up crazy late just to check VJ... because I'm logged in all day anyways so by the time night rolls around I've had more than my plenty of fix!

See profile for our K-1 Visa/AOS story from 2010-2011Apparently we love USCIS/NVC so much we left and are doing it again! This time giving IR-1 a whirl. Rock on immigrators.

07/09/2014 sent in IR-1 packet to Chicago Lockbox

07/16/2014 NOA1

07/17/2014 check cashed by USCIS

10/01/2014 found out we are expecting baby #2 June 2015!

12/15/2014 NOA2

12/30/2014 Case received by NVC

03/23/2015 Received Case and Inv # from NVC after many calls and bogus excuses.

03/24/2015 AOS payment accepted by NVC

04/09/2015 IV payment finally accepted by NVC after the set the wrong fee and took weeks to correct it.

*many more delays thanks to the agency processing my fingers prints to the RCMP and the post office losing our mail*

05/20/2015 Packet sent to NVC via UPS, eta May 28.

Me too!

I still post regularly, especially on Thursda as I am home all day (haha I know, Im pathetic), but I was not able to retain the same fervor I had for VJ before I came here. Actually, it's the same for everything that I was "addicted" to before getting married. Now I spend most evenings with the hubby or with friends.

VJ was my saving grace when I was in the K1 process. I usually stayed in the Canadian forum but ocassionally ventured out to the other ones (). It really helped me to know that I was not alone and there were people who can share in my misery :P

I still post mainly to vent about the WIL and because Im not done with immigration yet. But I suspect that when my friends stop posting, I might stop posting too... :(

Finally married... and still married... ;)

Hi All,

It seems I have gotten into a habit recently of going to bed but instead turning on the laptop and surfing through VJ for at least an hour if not two before I decide ok its late enough gotta get some sleep!!

Anyone else burning the midnight oil out there? -_-

I'm just waiting to have dreams about VJ.... :reading: Or dreams about piles and piles of forms and paperwork... :girlwerewolf2xn:

Everyone...

Lol..I agree, I'm one of those "oil burners" out there too!

Yes, I (Ant) am a VJ addict!

So I do understand all of you out there, who have the same VJ addiction, and are going through the same/similar immigration journey too....

Many times, I have said, "I'll quit after this post...", but for some reason or other, I always come back....

I think it's because that VJ has been a helpful, friendly, fun, etc. online community, that I can't seem to get enough of, and has been a part of my life for the last few years throughout my immigration journey...

Maybe it's because VJ has helped me, therefore I feel it is fair that I help others back too?

So it's kind of like an 'old habit' that is hard to quit, or an 'old friend' that is hard to get rid of.....

Btw..What makes this even more funnier is that I'm already naturalized...My immigration journey is over....

So there is no practical reason as to why I need VJ anymore..

Yet I still hang around...;)

Weird...

Ant (A VJ Addict....)

P.S. I admit though, I have spent less time on VJ than I did before....So I guess I'm trying to be less addicted to such...So don't be surprised if I don't respond right away...Nevertheless, I spend some time (about 2 days a week, 2-3 posts each time) on VJ so that's good enough for now, right?....;)

I think its a persons duty to help those that are going after you, as you were helped by those before you. Its kinda like a pay it foreward thing, and when I get a PM saying "thank you, your advice totally helped me out!!" I feel like I have done my good deed for the day! :)

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Yeah, VJ gets a serious part of my day (not always at night) but probably an hour or two. Last night, i spent 2 hours scouring through posts back to Nov. 2009 about financial stuff, car importing, banking, etc because my fiance' has finally figured out that maybe it is time to start contacting people to see what he should do once he has his visa in hand which hopefully will be mid May after his May 3 interview.

Yes Indeed, VJ is definitely part of my every day life now.

From email to reading posts on VJ...the name could not be more suitable; Visa Journey!

I have gained and am continuing to gain so much information...thanks to all the senior members and even the ones a few steps ahead of me! I appreciate all the experiences, questions and answers shared.

TY to all of You for assisting me in reuniting my US and Canadian Family as 1! Though I'm still in the early stages...I've been able to prepare most of all that will be required for the remaining requests!

At this time, since I am not able to share 'my Visa Journey' intent with co-workers, VJ is like my channel to my excitement that is bottled up inside me and also a place where I know others understand how painful the wait can be.

KUDOS to ALL! (F)

Waiting patiently for my DH's MTL #,
