Why is it barbaric? Sounds extremely humane to me. They can still screw their brains out. The only difference, is that they cannot compound their abuse of the system any further.

"We" is the collective "we the people."

In the same way that it would be 'barbaric' to forcibly sterilize anyone because of some state mandate as to what is an 'acceptable' when it comes to procreation. Perhaps Obama should suggest sterilizing anyone who comes to the US who is not a legal citizen? Or how about sterilizing everyone who fails to get a high school diploma? Or, what about anyone who exceeds a bmi of 35%?

Is overpopulation a problem, or not? If not, then far out! No worries. But if overpopulation is a problem, shouldn't we look at solutions? Self-enlightenment is not working, as the better off and better educated have fewer children than their less educated and less well off counterparts. So, what is your suggestion?

It's hilarious, we have all these bloody right wing nuts banging on about Obama the National Socialists while all the while these same people are lauding state government interference and intrusion as the great solution to the problems in society of illegal immigrants and women who have 'too many' children. Your problem is that you appear to seriously believe that there are one-size-fits-all solutions for social problems. If your logic is "my solution stands because noone else has offered an alternative", that's not pragmatic - that's childish.

Barbaric hey, how about putting her personal gratification ahead of these children? Please Cleo, negligent mothers are rarely to be seen. Though, they do tend to show up on the news to claim their "suuun" charged with double-homicide, "is a good boy and duuun no wrong". Outraged when a teacher has had enough with her sons behavioral problems, due to his upbringing or lack of, and throws a duster at the child or pushes the child back. Then this mother is all for her child's protection - basically the payout she will receive.

I already put close to $2 million in costs to the taxpayer, and you claim this is nothing. The two million could go to buy 50 disabled child a minivan; to pay for the health insurance of hundreds denied due to their terminal illness; to pay for 40 extra teachers; to medical research into cancer or the thousands of other diseases people live with and not by choice.

How many hundreds of thousand of other cases are there in America? In a country of 308 million. Regardless of what you two believe, her words and mentality speaks for itself. It's certainly something shared by many others. Everyone I know of who works in such communities has similar stories. However, you guys have labeled these anecdotal and invalid.
