I am on the ring and I could never use anything else. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE It.

I have never heard of this nuvo ring thing but have done a little research on the internet about it. Is it not awkward to put it in yourself? And I was thinking, how do you get it out cause it must be so far up there?!? lol. If anyone is on it would you care to share your experiences cause im a little bored of the pill. Its all I have every known so thats why I have always used it, but I am open to try something different.

Yodrak, I got my IUD (a Mirena coil) in the UK, I don't know much about availability in the US.

As far as it working, I find it much easier than the Pill because I'm not so good at remembering to take it. I also don't bleed at all with the IUD, and it lessens my (excrutiating) pains - although instead of getting them regularly I get them somewhat sporadically. However, I've always had a screwed-up cycle, so I may not be the best indicator.

Ok ladies, let me fill you in on the BEST invention known to ME :) I know it's not for everyone but I ADORE The ring. I used to forget the pill all the time - and it would make me nauseous....I hated it.

If you are comfortable putting your finger inside you, you're fine. To me it's no worse than a tampon.

Here's the deal. It a ring...you twist it into a figure eight, and insert. When I went to the doctor she SHOWED me how, let me practice and get comfortable BEFORE I left to make sure it was right for me. You leave it in three weeks, take it out the last...(Actually you only have it out five days...Ex: I take mine OUT on the 10th and in on the 15th.

I compare it to the rotisserie chicken guy "Just set it, and forget it!"

You can have sex with it in, wear tampons with it in...no worries. Stewart never ever feels it!

Getting it out is a cinch. It's not THAT far up there. You just hook it with your finger and pull it out. NOT HARD AT ALL.

PM me if you have any other questions. I'm a HUGE fan so I'll help any way I can

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I'm on depo.. I still have a script in canada so i get my family to fill the presciption and they take it when they come to visit.. Its about half the cost as it would be in the states... (70 here.. about 35 - 40 there..) You only need it every 3 months and i only pay about 10 bucks for the dr to inject it.. and i dont have my period anymore! which is nice... Its great because i'm terrible at taking pills...

AWESOME!!!!

DNA matching?

What Uni has funding for foiling "shower cloggers" by matching DNA? Then again, I guess that would be quite an interesting project for the biology dept.

If a sign like this was posted in an American Uni, it would be on CNN that night. Totally unacceptable to soccer moms everywhere. They send their children to school to get an education, not to learn about dirty things like masturbation! (Nobody masturbates!)

Durham is a strange institution. I have a friend who attended there and lived in halls her whole time, and from some of the things she told me this could WELL be true.

I'm a little late in the discussion but I have a Dr.'s appt in 15 min to talk about starting BC and what I can afford once I get maried and off my parents insurance! :P I understand from some friends that PP is the best option, you have to pay for the initial exam but after that it's affordable. Anyone here every use the one that makes you have only four periods a year? (I don't have time to read the rest of the thread and check but I didn't see it....)

The one that you only have 4 periods a year? Is that depo? Actually i dont have any periods on it.. its just a lil shot every 3 months or so.. really easy.. only downside is that its about 70 bucks here per shot (for the meds) and another 10 for the injection.. but it lasts 3 months so.. that's only about 27 bucks a a month.. plus the initial exam thing.. But you have to be careful with depo provera because if you use it more than 2 years you may have a loss of calcium.. not really a good thing.. otherwise it does have a 99.7% effective rate which is better than any other one so far as i know.. I dunno.. I like it, but because of the calcium thing i'm thinking of switching soon to the patch..

No, that's seasonale - most doctors will tell you that off-label use of normal BCP's for up to three months is generally non-harmful, you don't actually need to have a script for Seasonale to only have 4 periods a year. Seasonale has just been put through the rigors of clinical trials. Don't trust me though, ask your doctor! Unless the seasonale rep has already gotten to your doc, in which xcase they will prescribe Seasonale :D

Another old thing that I've heard in the long line of "dude, she can't get pregnant if you do this" is....

Mt. Dew - Supposedly the ingredient "yellow #5" will kill the little swimmers.

Drinking mountain dew? I drink mountain dew every day. I have 2 children. I hope no one is counting on the mountain dew method.
