Applied for I-485

We finally sent out the I-485 and the I-765 applications. I have a question, how long (estimated) does it take to receive any kind of answer from USCIS? If we have applied for the I-485, that means my husband is able to stay here beyond the visa as I understand? I am sorry to ask such silly questions, just want to make sure we are doing everything correctly and check it over with everyone to be sure. Thank you!

We finally sent out the I-485 and the I-765 applications. I have a question, how long (estimated) does it take to receive any kind of answer from USCIS?

Well - you should get two NOA's (Notice of Action) - one for the I-485 and one for the I-765; indicating they received your packages. That usually seems to take anywhere from a week to several weeks.

Next will come a biometrics notice (maybe a single one, maybe two separate ones). These seem to show up around the 30-day mark. And so on.

For all intents and purposes, yes. He shouldn't leave the country or anything.

Its never a bad idea to do that.

We filed AOS just last month, just click on my timeline, it is pretty typical of March filers anyway
