I am getting married on October 15 in portmore JA. when i file for the visa and he gets apporved (god hoping) does he have to get a new social security number or can he keep the one he had before if its still valid. He was in teh states on a work visa for 2 years (thats how i met him) do they take into account his previous stay here on whether or not to approve it I really don't want to pay some lawyer its not in the budget so i really need as much first hand expereince on this as possible

I am getting married on October 15 in Portmore JA. when I file the petition for the visa and when he gets approved (god hoping) does he have to get a new social security number or can he keep the one he has, its still valid. The SS# he presently have will be his number for life time. There will be no need to obtain a new number, but he will need to obtain a new card after he receives the GC.

He was in the states on a work visa for 2 years (thats how I met him) do they take into account his previous stay here on whether or not to approve it. It doen't hurt his chance.

I really don't want to pay some lawyer its not in the budget so I really need as much first hand expereince on this as possible

Congratulations and good luck.
