They didn't open my package at POE

Hi,

I came to the US on a K1 visa in Nov 2009 and applied for AOS in 01/2010. I just received an RFE (not sure for what yet), but I just remembered something - they never opened my package at the POE. Is that normal? I was told at the embassy that the officer at the POE would open the package and or keep it and I assume send it off some place. Do you think this recent RFE due to the fact they're missing some info from that package (the medical) that wasn't forwarded on. I have the package here, sealed as is was when I received it. Hmmm...

Yes, they should have opened it.

Yes, it probably have something to do with that.

Sounds like you should make an infopass appointment so they can get a hold of your package. Wait for your RFE paper and bring it with you, it might save you some money if it's medical related.

Also bring the NOA1's for your AOS so they can link your package with your file, wherever it is at the moment.

Wow! how did they process you without opening the package... How did they accept your AOS without having your files! That is really interesting, I bet the RFE is for all thos files that they don't have lol.

Im with Rhianner on this one, get the RFE in the mail and make an infopass right away and bring all that in with you.

I just called the CBP and USCIS they said the same thing. My appointment is on Monday and I was told to go with the RFE or not. What an effing mess. Idiots....

They didn't open your package (which is not normal), but did they keep it? If they kept it, hopefully they still have the paperwork and the RFE is about something else.

I personally would wait to see what the RFE is about before doing anything. You don't know what the RFE is about until you get the copy of it in the mail.
