Monsters.com? & other dot.com's or resources

Hi guys! I'm planning to move to the USA so I was just looking around for some job. I looked at monster.com and there are tons of jobs adds there promising 50k jobs so I was just wondering if you guys had any kind of experience with them? Did you have any luck getting a job through that web site?

I've been approached/hired through Monster in the past. Depending on your occupation, there may be better choices out there.

Well I have a BA in Business studies and I'm working currently for HP as account manager. So my background is more sales orianted so I would be looking for sales jobs.

I saw some of the jobs at Monster match my criteria but I don't want to get my hopes up yet so I wanted to see what is your experience...

If you are working directly with HP, you might want to look internally, around the city where you would be residing in the USA. At a mininum, contact the HP site manager for that city (or his/her admin assistant) and inquire about sales slots for 2011 1st quarter.

indeed.com. Portal site that polls all site. Lets you drill down into a area ans sorts by pay.

Monster.com is a great place to look for jobs as well as Careerbuilder.com, Hotjobs.com and Dice.com. I've applied to several jobs in the past using these sites and I've gotten interviews rather quickly. I found my current job through Dice.com, but they all work the same.

With IT jobs, you're usually better to find niche job board sites, but with a sales background, you should be able to find positions through Monster or one of the other general job boards.

Careerbuilder.com wasn't very selective for me. They'd send me any old thing, and I started getting a lot of spam from, of all things, insurance companies looking to hire commissioned salespeople. No thank you!

Monster.com, OTOH, was great. I actually got my current job through monster.com. Yay!

There are niche boards for just about every industry. Salesjobs.com is one of the largest in sales.

This will be my second month here in the US and until now I can't find a job. I've been trying to apply through Careerbuilder.com and other sites but still no luck. Maybe because of my educational background. I also tried my luck applying at the San Francisco International Airport, because that's my last working field in Saudi Arabia but still no response. I am starting having this feeling of being useless, my wife is the only one who pays for everything, I am trying my best to find a job but I guess there's nothing I can do because of the tight competition and my lack of education.

I use indeed.com or my alumni portal to find jobs. I've used Monster a few times, but had better results with the other two.
