I was driving on my way to work today thinking it would be a good day. I just bought a house, moved last weekend, and K-1 approved last Monday. I was then hit by a woman making a left-hand turn which then pushed my car onto the curb. She hit my driver's side door and had me pinned in the car. I am ok. I am very shook up over it. This is my first accident with me driving. Her front end was laying on the road (Nissan Altima). She crushed my driver's side door and the part where the door meets the front end of my car. Also, above the tire and the hood is bent. She didn't have her insurance card with her. The police officer was a bit annoyed. He said she would be 100% cited for this. I was able to drive my car after I calmed down. Although, when I got to work, it wouldn't shut off. I had my keys in my hand and my car was still running. <sigh>

I now have to go for an estimate on my car if it can even be fixed. I sure hope she had insurance. :o

I hope you went to see a doctor!! You never know when medical problems are going to come down the road... I had two slipped discs from my car accident in 2000 and I felt fine right after the accident. I just had surgery this october to repair them.

glad you are OK, because you are feeling good to post.

I am so happy to know that you are ok. Did you at least go to a doctor to make sure you were fit??? You should just to be on the safe side if it isn't already too late to do so. That way, if something does come about later down the road, she will still be responsible for any injury. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Gosh, you're lucky you weren't hurt - she hit you right where it could have really hurt you.

Even if she is not insured, you shouldn't have to pay for the repairs. Most insurance has uninsured drivers clauses on them now so I would assume yours would. You *may* have to pay a deductable though.

My sister and I were hit by an uninsured motorist in November (I was driving her car) and the repairs were $1500. She didn't have to pay a dime.

Cars can be repaired, and though its an inconvenience - at least you are ok. :)

*edited to say - definitely go to the dr if you are lightheaded. Better to be safe than sorry! (F)

Oh Jen, Glad you are okay but you should go get checked out and keep in mind that nerve damage can take awhile to show it's ugly head.

Go home and relax after the hospital !!!!!!!!!!!

Not true. As a claims adjuster, I can tell you for a certainty that Uninsured motorist property damage is NOT a compulsory coverage, and is not even available as an option in most states (there are a few that have them, but just a few). Every state DOES have Uninsured motorist bodily injury coverage, but that obviously doesn't cover your car.

How old is your car? Do you have collision? If so, you could use that. If you do, your company would be able to go after her whether or not she has insurance. It takes a long time, but it's not hopeless.

Hopefully the process will go fast and smooth. If you have any questions or need clarification on anything, feel free to PM me.

Happy

Please go to the doctor asap. I hope you check out ok. I have been in 3 real bad accidents and in the last one the pain came the next day. You may have a delayed onset of some pain. In all my accidents I was always worse off the next few days. Thank providence you are ok!

Take care. (F)
