Sa tingin ko hindi mo na kailangan ng parental consent kasi nasa legal age ka na para mag asawa. Pero kung gusto mo maniguro, ipanotaryo mo na. Mura lng naman jan sa atin ung bayad.

any body can help who can speak english lol

The OP was asking if she needs to get her parental consent notarized. She is 21 y/o. I replied I don't think she needs parental consent. She is of legal age to get married, but if she wants to make sure, she can do it, it would not hurt, it is not expensive at all to get it notarized.

the parental consent is for the philippine fiancee not the US citizen.

JIMFIBI said, He/she doesn't think that you need the Parent Consent because you are in the legal age but if you really want to have, you can have one and try to consult a lawyer to notarize it with the signature of your parents and of course the lawyer!! Just like what I did in my paper but it was different case because I have it at CFO:).... I am 20 and husband is 24!!!!

It was the filipina fiancee who was asking. So we are talking about her parental consent not the USC  . She wants to know before she flies to the US.

To the OP, your parents do not have to sign it in front of the lawyer. Just take it to a Notary Public signed by your parents na. Hindi naman mahirap magpanotaryo.

ok then they have the sex set wrong on their profile...sorry

guess that explains all the questions asked many times in different ways

I figured since they wanted it in english it was the USC

Also, they are going CR-1 not K-1 I thought

My fiance (now wife) was 21 when we went through the K1 last year. The embassy did not require a parental advice/consent form BUT the CFO people did before they would issue her stamp inside her passport (July 09).

So we had to get her parents to simply sign a small statement approving our relationship and have it notorized etc. Only then would the CFO give her our clearance.

I was only 23 years old when I got married. The parental consent that we submitted to the person who married us WASN'T notarized by lawyer and we didn't encountered any problem. If you are submitting this parental consent to CFO, they won't mind whether it is notarized or not. As long as it is clearly stated in your consent that your parents/guardian are aware and allowing you to get married and of course it is signed by them (parents/guardian) then you will be fine.

I don't know on where you will submit this parental consent because you didn't mentioned it. But wherever you will submit it, call/inquire to Municipal Hall/CFO if you wanna make sure about the notarization.

Good Luck! :star:

my parent consistent letter does it have to be stamp by a lawyer with a seal n they watch my parenets sign it? im confuse with that can somebody can explain it to me cuz i getting marry soon i need to know before i leave the states thanks.

According sa travel.state.gov

"Marriage applicants who are age 18 to 21 must have parental consent in writing, those age 21 to 25 must have written parental advice (a written indication that the parents are aware of the couple's intent to marry). The revised Family Code of the Philippines, which took effect on August 4, 1988, prohibits marriage for individuals below the age of 18."

Actually, inemail ko ang St. Mary Euphrasia Foundation bago ako umattend ng seminar ng CFO doon. Ang reply sa akin ay mayroong:

"If you have a visa, please bring the original passport with the visa and 3 copies of the passport and the visa. If no visa yet, Bring two valid Identification cards (any of the ff: Passport, NBI Clearance, SSS digitalized ID, TIN, PRC or Birth Certificate on security paper issued by the NSO. There is a P250 registration fee and P400.00 for the CFO Certificate and sticker.

If you are under 23 year old, you may bring a copy of a notarized parental consent of your intended marriage. If previously married, bring a copy of an annulment decree of your previous marriage or if partner is also previously married, please bring a copy of his divorce paper also."

uh? I think she talked in english, you just don't get it.

No need to be harsh.

To the OP, you don't need to notarized it or whatsoever. In my case, I got married and my age was below 21, When we apply for the Marriage License, they asked my Dad to be present, and they photocopied his ID that serves as his consent for me getting married. no sweat.
