No it is not too late to adjust, you can adjust taxes 7 3 years back. I would advise that you seek the help of an accountant, since you don't have a good understanding of the tax laws. The cost of an good accountant can save you many $$$$$.

Good luck...

three not seven

I didn't mean for this thread to turn into a Tax Consultation...I was just wondering if Manila has ever accepted Co-Sponsors for K-1 visas.

I don't think anyone can say never but they typically do not...

moving to consulate thread as this a consulate issue

YMMV

From what I've seen on VJ over the past year, Manila is a difficult embassy regarding co-sponsors and K1 visas. The consulates scrutinizes every detail of the co-sponsor's financials. However, some people do get through the system with a co-sponsor on a K1, it just doesn't happen that often at the USEM Manila.

One pattern I believe I've observed with Co-sponsors is if the Sponsor is either a college student or recent grad they seem to understand that there will be enough income potential for the sponsor to fly on their own.

I believe the IRS can go back as long as they want to.

There would be a penalty as well as the back taxes, I have a feeling that the IRS will not be sympathetic to " I thought I did not have to pay any taxes as you did not know about the income". There ae othe taxes you have to pay as self employed. Definitely not a free ride.
