Hi Lenie:

I was just curious...why were you denied for domicile issues? We have our interview next week for a CR-1 and I am wondering (actually worried) what domicile proof they were asking you for? Hope we have everything we need. I surely don't want to have to wait EVEN longer! Hope all goes well for you!!

The CO didn't like that I had a permanent resident card for Canada and spent time there. I was never gone from the U.S. for very long periods of time and have a house here, but he had already made up his mind from the beginning (I could tell). Anyway, if the U.S. citizen is in the U.S. and working, you shouldn't have a problem. However, if you are both living in Canada, it may be harder to prove. I hope this helps.

You might want to read the Canada Specific 'prove up domicile' stuff at

(ah - I see you've posted something there, cool. be sure to read all in that topic, from page 1 to last - all variants are covered.)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
