We have a really inexpensive ring that looks like it cost a fortune. I actually have two engagement rings...he made one over in Africa and mailed it to me. That's the one I love the most. The other ring is something he and my aunt cooked up because she thought people would be more concerned about appearances. We got it from Walmart.com for $327.00 (includes 1day shipping and tax). I love it! So if you want something that doesn't put a dent in your wallet (or his) You can take a look at mine. I'll be happy to give you more information if you'd like, just PM me.

Good Luck!!

Thanks for all the great thoughts on this guys.

I think I am just going to get Angelo to get me a little cheap ring and send me the ring and the receipt and we can just not even worry if that might be an issue or not.

I am sure it wouldn't e a problem since yea Canada isn't a high fraud country but hey the more stuff I have for them to see the better right.

Looks I get to go on a cheap engagement ring hunt on EBAY tonight!!! LOL

Yeah, that works! Actually a friend of mine bought a very cheap ring at some store, just looked fancy but he did not spend so much money. (plus they need the money for the process fee). Anyway, you know what is better for you. Good luck!

It's a very personal choice and decision.

I'm glad I bought my fiance a nice bridal set. She loves it.

You should do the ring thing if you believe it means something and not so much to make it look good for a border official.

once I decided that my honey was the gal for me I started talking about engagement rings and the prospect of bringing one with me. I would show her rings on-line and she would always reply that it was too expensive even though I was looking at small diamond rings at discounted prices. I finally remembered that I had inherited a nice little ring from a great aunt who had passed away a few years ago. I never gave it much thought other than wondering why I got that ring, but as I am realizing, there is a time, a place, and a purpose for everything. She loves it and I think my great aunt Irene is proud to share her ring with my little angel.

Hi

I do agree with Zenaxi, this is a very personal deition but i can tell you the experience of a coleague from Canada to give you an small contribution

She was asked for the ring and the Officer was interested not only in the ring, he asked for the small inscription in it and if the date match wih the day they were engaged.

As you could see, you can take all the recommendation but each case has its own particularities and for this Officer it was something important. who knows if in terms of fact, what would have happened to her if she weren't wearing a ring.( maybe nothing!! who knows!! )

I really appreciate everyones input.

You guys are really putting me at ease!

YAY for visajourney and its awesome members!

I spoke to Angelo today about it and he said he is gunna pick a nice one out for me tomorrow just to put my mind at ease as well.

I am sure it wouldn't be an issue but hey if it helps me from not going crazy then why not right.

Even though like said before it might be too late for the crazy part
