It depends on what visa she is applying for! You have to give us a few more tidbits of info to be able to help you out :)

It depends, what country is the beneficiary from?

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the captain of my soul.

Hello my friends,

This question is from my mom that does not have a VJ account yes.gif

I just want to know if how long does it take from sending the application paper until they interview you?

My mom lives in San Diego. Thanks yes.gif

Thanks alot my friends.

Hi,

Here's my N-400 timeline:

Date Filed: 07-17-2009 (USPS with tracking number)

NOA Date: 07-24-2009

Bio Appt : 08-15-2009

Interview Date: 09-29-2009 (6:30 AM)

Oath Ceremony: 09-29-2009 (1:30 PM)

Please note that the immigration processing is case to case basis. I sent all the required documents on my original submission of my N-400 and I didn't received an RFE. RFE makes the processing a little bit longer. Also, not all immigration offices have the same day oath ceremony.

Good luck on your mom's journey!

generally speaking, between 2 1/2 months to 4 months. it is quite fast. I depends on what city and state one lives in.

I applied on Feb 18th in Miami, FL

Had my fingerprints taken on April 2nd

Got an RFE

Waiting for my interview letter any day now.

Hi,

One simple thing I did for estimating when I apply for my naturalization is to go through a few months filers lists and see who's local office was San Diego. I did October-January and I was able to get an estimate on people who actually got their process completed. It takes 10 minutes and you have your results.

Just a suggestion!

Time lines will vary from person to person. People from the exact same district will vary between them as well. There are numerous cases where spouses will apply at the same time and one will get their citizenship before the other even gets their interview.

So it's part of the system, part of your individual petition and part by your interview experience. Ranges are a few months to years depending.

Most will see it though in a 3-6 month range generally or that's what it was when I was doing it. Not sure if it's longer or about the same now. Though many people I am hearing are still over that waiting and waiting...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

Hi 3Stars&ASun,

Well, as for citizenship timelines...there are many variables....it can be slow, it can be fast.....

And it can change from year to year too, as a few years ago, things were a lot slower in the process...

The average time nowadays to complete the US Citizenship process is about 3-6 months.....which is a big range.....so plan ahead accordingly...

(see VJ timelines/message threads for more info for your specific area...)

It all boils down to:

a) Interview dates...Can your local office schedule one quick enough and are you able to pass such that day.

b ) More importantly: Oath dates. You are not a US Citizen until you take the oath. Some people get their oaths as quick as the same day, while some people get their oaths days, months, weeks, months, later.....It all depends on the schedule of your local office....

For example, my citizenship process was 2 1/2 months exactly, from start to finish....which was quicker than usual due to other circumstances....Can't say that it can be as quick for others...again...depends on your local office there....

Hope this helps. Good luck on yours and your mom's journey too.

Ant
