I was just informed by my fiance that her son's aunt has TB. And she was living with them for a month last year when he was 3 months old. I am guessing that thim info alone will bring up a red flag at the medical exam. But what i need to know is if for some reason, and i pray to God it's not, it is positive will they be denied for a visa?

the doctor will ask the patient if there in her relatives has a TB. they will check the history of every patient. Saint Lukes is very strict. I had my medical yesterday and Ill be back today to get the result.. they are not going to deny u but they going to move ur interview date and need to heal the TB. It depends on St lukes how many months u have to wait

if you are found to have active TB you will have to go under treatment at St. Lukes usually for 6 months....of course you will probably have to do the Sputnum test, which could take up to 2 months. the only way you could "fail" the medical is if you have some sort of contagious disease that cant be treated by medicine or be a drug addict. You can fail, but I have never heard of anyone failing and not getting getting treated and cleared later.

It will just be a delay if they find something on her xray. She will not get the vaccine shots on the second day of her medical. They will ask her to undergo the sputum test, she will be asked you to go back there for (not sure if 2 or 3) consecutive mornings. Then she will have to wait for 2 months to get the result. If she is positive of TB, she will undergo a treatment for 6 months, if she is negative, then next will be interview at the USEM.
