Hello Everyone,

My brother received an email that the I-130 he filed for his wife who is in India has been approved.

What is the process now? Will his case/file be sent to NVC and from there go to the Embassy in India who will call his wife for an interview? is this accurate?

Would you advice him to apply for I-129F now or just wait for this I-130 process to take its own course? He wants to bring his wife as soon as possible?

I dont think he was aware that he can file for I-129F right after he gets an NOA-1 for I130 and that he doesnt have to wait for the case approval although his case was approved in only 2 months.

Thanks,

Kal.

Please read the following NVC flow chart. Also do lots of reading on the NVC forum from now on.

Filing for I-129F (K-3) will be fruitless, since the I-130 is approved already. The I-130 process at the NVC may take upto 3 months from the approval.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
