If you agree with The Shooter then you agree with "only targetting brown people".

Have you also forgotten statements you yourself made to the effect that all hispanics should have diminished rights?

What I agree with justshooter is that it's time for America to have a national ID card. That is, a card with a photo that clearly states our status. Something along the lines of the Passport card I have seen; which are quite secure. If or when someone is questioned during any routine check, the authorities should have the right to ask for the card. This card should also be used to determine whether someone qualifies for work and any government benefit. It would take two seconds to produce and wouldn't be of the slightest inconvenience to anyone here legitimately and abiding by the law.

 who cares? It's fun to have your wallet stuffed with 15 different ID cards that serve the same purpose!

Oh my. really? Who Cares? There is federal reg for that GC to carried, on one's person - you know that, right? Actually, them Arizona po-po will use that reg during each 'stop'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Things imposed from on high from central government do not tend to go down very well in the US (look at the madness over the healthcare bill). Point being, you cannot be for States' Rights if you want a national ID card. Nor can The Shooter for that matter. I wonder what he side of the fence he falls on when central government dictates infringe his second amendment rights

the shooter's rights are infringed upon every day in regard to violation of second amendment protection. unfortunately, in light of the recent oral arguments content in this past spring's session, it appears that this practice is not going to end any time soon. the shooter votes with the soap box and the ballot box, cause it ain't bad enough to vote with the cartridge box, yet.

remember Athens.

I don't want to carry something around all the time in order to 'identify' myself to people in authority. That is one freedom from government interference that I value far above them telling me how much salt I can consume in foods that I didn't prepare myself.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Too bad. America has a serious problem with illegal aliens, hence the necessity of such measures. Some people don't "wan"t to go through metal detectors at airports. Perhaps, we should get rid of them because these few don't want them.

Seriously, I don't really believe metal detectors do a great deal to increase security on planes. However, if I choose to board a plane, I have no problem producing legal documentation. I would seriously object to having to produce documentation just because I was on the street and someone wanted to see it, with the consequence of failure to produce at that point being imprisonment. That's a bad path to go down, and if you want a parallel to fascism, that is an accurate one.

As would anyone else.

Anyone against such measures always fabricates extreme scenarios that someone of brown color will be walking down the street or having a coffee with their family, yet the police will simply wrestle them to the ground because of it. I am sure when they first proposed wiring up homes with electricity, someone claimed the government will use it to spy on them. Such baseless paranoia has existed throughout the ages.

The criteria is quite simple. If someone is questioned by police and clearly not of American origin, as in does not speak a word of English, the police should reserve the right to ask for some sort of identification indicating status.

I thought you said you weren't for "targetting the brown people".

Then ####### is this?

Riight, because not speaking a word of English or sounding foreign (like an Aussie or Pom) is restricted to brown people.

At least with your next staw man argument, try something new. The baseless 'you hate brown people' rhetoric is getting quite old and boring.

"Sounding foreign" and being overheard speaking a different language now amounts to due cause for stop and search?

Brilliant

Nice try but never said that. What I said is that if someone is questioned with probable cause, the police should reserve the right to ask for their status. Much in the same way if someone smells of alcohol, they can conduct a sobriety test. Not speaking English or having a foreign accent could warrant this simple check too.

Nevertheless, if you are so worried about discrimination, then by default everyone questioned by the police should have to show an ID card. Can't wait to hear the excuse for this one.
