if your friend OD'd would you walk into the ER w/ him? not unless you want johnny all up your a$$ you wouldn't. you'd do the drive & drop, to avoid getting pinched for knowing illegal activity is happening & not reporting it.

Good point.

Anybody, citizen or not, is required to carry ID with them. So if you are pulled over in your State and the cop ask for your ID, you're fine. If you happen to look like a possible illegal immigrant, the cop will ask you: "are you a US citizen?"

If you confirm, you're fine. He won't detain you because you have brown skin, but because you didn't carry an ID with you.

If a non-citizen claims to be a USC, he's done. If he says he's a LPR, he has to prove it.

What's so bad with that picture?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

You are required to identify yourself, but not carry identification.

Yep, the only time you must carry ID is when driving a motor vehicle and in some areas where the laws are gray on a bicycle.

Otherwise stop and identify laws only require a name and address....no ID required......yet.

Nice. Can I also claim to be a white guy with a reallllllllllllly bad tan?

Well, they will run your name, and as soon as they figure out you're not whom you say you are, you will go from sitting in handcuffs on the curb, to sitting in the back of a patrol unit with handcuffs on.

It's not a gray area in California regarding bicycles. Cyclists are subject to the laws of the road, and as such, must carry an ID.

rofl.gifThis is actually a hindrance to law enforcement. Police rely on information from people, if they are worried about the police arresting them over their immigration status, you will see fewer convictions for crimes.

This will have an adverse effect with any hispanic community. They have essentially made it a criminal offense to be hispanic and not have identification on you, regardless of immigration status.rofl.gif

Hindrance, illegal’s don’t talk to police period.

so illegals will lose a protection they do not deserve. cry me a river.

it's already an offense to be a legal immigrant and not have documentation. you should know this.

So what magically happens to a legal immigrant the day he or she naturalizes, that would tell these so-called "well trained professionals" (the po-po) that he is now an American and not an alien?

Does his diсk grow an inch?

Wow you are spectacularly ignorant. This will effect the mexican-american citizens, you know, the ones who were born here and enjoy the same rights as you.
