I'm the wife of an American Soldier;

I'm the hope that lives within him after storm clouded days.

The freedom from war that gives wings to his heart,

May they reach across the miles and bind our hearts together

against all that we must face in this world.

Her passport will work fine.

How about getting her a state ID card? Maybe your state has them. Here in Washington, a state ID card looks just like a drivers license and you even get them from the Department of Motor Vehicles. That's the first thing my wife got after she received her Social Security card.

Yep, should be fine with passport...but as recommended, you should get the SS Card ASAP and see if your state has an ID card. Our DMV has them.

Yes, she can still travel anywhere in the USA. Just show her Philippine passport and she will be fine. I did that when my husband and I went to Washington D.C. and I didn't encounter any problems at the airport. ;)

Before she received her green card, my wife always carried around her Social Security card, her passport, her state ID card, and an official copy of our marriage certificate. If they sent us a NOA for our AOS, she carried that too. We wanted to play it safe. :whistle:

Vicky arrived 2-4, we flew to Vegas 2-12; it wasn't an issue with just her passport. No-one even looked twice at us. Her visa is in her passport, that's all she needed at that point. If the I-94 is expired I would carry a copy of the NOA from your AOS and possibly a photocopy of your marriage cert. to show legal status.

Our state you can't get an ID card until you can show >30 days residence, with either a landline/ utility bill, or bank statement with the new resident's name on it dated at least 30 days old. It took a long time to get her ID (actually hers is her learner's permit, she passed her written test at the same time).
