Hi all,

Ok, the package is ready to go (as soon as we run out and get our passport photos done – I can’t believe I forgot them yesterday!). Can I please have a quick double check from you sages to make sure everything seems hunky dory?

Here is what is being sent (this list is actually what is on the cover letter):

- Payment in the amount of $170.00

- Completed I-129F

- I-129F supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person

- I-129F supplement: Part B, Question 19, explanation of marriage broker (we met via match.com and are not claiming to have met through a marriage broker – just in case an VJers are wondering what this is about – but are giving the contact information anyway just in case.)

- G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner )

- G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)

- Birth certificate (front and back) (Petitioner )

- Letter of intent to marry (Petitioner)

- Letter of intent to marry (Beneficiary)

- Certificate of Divorce (Beneficiary)

- Proof of having met in person in the past two years

Here is what we have as proof of having met:

- copy of my hotel receipt for a two night stay for David’s (USC) cousin’s wedding in NY, included is a copy of the wedding invite – it only has my name on the receipt, but at least it puts me in the US!

- receipt from an auto repair shop in the US – the receipt information includes my car, along with my name, stating that my contact information is at David’s (name and number included)

- itinerary from flight I took from NJ to Buffalo last March with evidence that David was also living in NJ at that point (I drove then from Buffalo home to Toronto – dayumm!! – travel in the US is cheap compared to Canada!!!)

- Parking passes to park where David was living with my car’s plate on them, copies of my vehicle registration to prove my car, a visa slip to put me in the area, and proof that David was also living there

- Two little gas station receipts that have our names printed on them that put is in the same gas station within minutes of eachother

- Recipt and work order with David’s name on it from the Apple store in Toronto (only bit of real evidence that puts him in Toronto – I guess I am the bigger pack rat)

- 8 photos –1time stamped June 04 and 1 time stamped July 06 – to actually show longevity of relationship

I had to really get creative with some of this evidence as we drove everywhere and never really had cause to fly or stay in hotels. Hope this suffices!

Thanks in advance for all your input!

Everything seems okay, except for the pictures dated June 2004 (more than 2 years ago), so I'd think it won't be necessary.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

general consensus on the IMBRA forum is that match.com and yahoo.com are both exempt (and in reading the definition, I believe it to be clear) however, just to be on the safe side, a few people who have met on these sites, are indeed stating no, but backing it up with an explanatiion of our interpretation of the act and the contact information anyway, just in case they want it. Unfortunately, to date, I don't think anyone has been approved or denied based on this, so there is nothing to go on. *sigh*
