There shouldn't be a problem. I'm in a similar situation. Ironically my fiance is from India and we both are living in the Dominican Republic. I know that our documents will be handled by the consulate here.

March 27, 2010 -- Mailed application to Vermont Service Center

April 1, 2010 -- Certified mail confirms delivery

April 19, 2010 -- Called USCIS to update address and got my case#, ie., NOA1

April 22, 2010 -- Touched

August 2, 2010 -- NOA2!!!

Oct 15, 2010 -- Received notification of interview date

Oct. 31,2010 -- Fly to Santo Domingo

Nov. 3, 2010 -- Interview -- VISA DENIED BECAUSE OF IMMIGRATION STATUS

Mar. 9, 2011 -- Received an email indicating the State Department has requested a review of our case

My fiance is from Dominican republic but lives in argentina as a permanent resident would that be any problem with our k1 visa process? we want to this in argentina

On the I-129F it asks for your fiance(e)'s address. You should list the one in Argentina. Then there is a question near the end that asks which Consulate you plane to interview at. You should list the Consulate for Argentina.
