So apparently my green card is lost in the mail. Yeah. I need to file a I-90 and I am confused about the instructions. It says I need to provide all initial evidence and supporting documentation. What are they referring to? I understand passport, birth certificate, marriage licence. Am I missing anything? Also should I go ahead and schedule a infopass before I file it?

Because it was mailed on the 6th to my old address, along with approval notice. The approval notice was sent to the USCIS on the 12th, but my card was never returned. They resent the approval notice, and I received it, but my GC is nowhere to be found. They told me to file I-90.

I went ahead and scheduled and Infopass. At least they can give me the stamp and I don't have to worry about it even if it takes long to replace. Plus I can actually find out what happened to it.

Well if it was sent to your old address, chances are it was (or will be) returned as undeliverable and they can resend it to you. Did you update your address with USCIS when you moved (AR-11 and I-865?) and a call to the center to change address?

Yes I updated the address. I would think that the card should be returned to them, but considering it was sent on the 6th and it still isn't returned, I don't think it will happen. I haven't filed the I-90 yet. I got the package ready to send, but will wait until my appointment. I am still hoping that it might get forwarded to me after all.

I don't know how it goes with AOSers for GC but don't you get the welcome to america letter with the case number you can check online that tells you if the GC has been produced?

Also, since you're military family, call the MIL USCIS line and then involve the congressman if it's been too long - people normally get their GCs in up to 90 days (I won't say always as for me it took almost a year from POE to GC in hand due to no fault of ours - never moved).

Are you referring to the receipt number? I know that the production was ordered on the 2nd, and the card was mailed on the 6th. It really hasn't been too long, but I know that it was sent to my old address, which is vacant right now. I also went to the post office and was told there is no mail for me that has been held by them. The welcome letter made it back and it was resent, but the card is missing. I don't know if I can involve congressman, because my husband is not active military right now. He is in the national guard. Plus it really hasn't been that long. The thing is that I know that it was sent to a wrong address, so there is no point to wait 30 days.

And again I did change the address when we moved, and I have a letter confirmation from them. They admitted that it was their fault.

Ok so receipt says it's been mailed. Could be that it was sent to the wrong address and is now making its way back to USCIS.

Anyone can involve a congressman - my husband was fresh from active duty when we involved ours (also national guard). Give it some more time and then start tracking your card down. Did you update your address also through USCIS line as you had a pending case?

Yes I updated it. But are you saying that I shouldn't file the I-90 at all? I find it odd that it will get lost in the mail. I mean unless somebody took it intentionally, I don't see how it can get lost. I was hoping it was going to show up today in the mail, but still nothing.

I say wait and see if it comes back as undeliverable due to change of address. If it does go back to them, all you have to do is request them to send it to the new address - no I-90 required.

Well funny thing happened today at the info pass appointment. While I was there a new updated showed up saying that my card has been returned today at 7:50 am. The officer was so surprised. He sent a request for it to be resent, but also said that if I don't get it by 3 weeks to file the I-90. I hope they resent it. I hope my bad luck is finally ending.

. I hope my bad luck is finally ending.

I'm sure it is. Am glad they/you found out what happened. :star:

Tip: It is always a good idea to have your First/Last name inside your mailbox (either inside the lid, or where the carrier can see it). This helps carriers keep up with new additions, recent move-ins, etc. I have no idea if this is why your PR/Green Card was sent back undeliverable or not, but it is still not a bad idea.

It was sent back because nobody lives at this address anymore, and they don't leave any mail. Online update says that it was sent to me yesterday, so hopefully it will make it this time. Of course as I expected they didn't change my last name to my married name (even though the interviewer said they will) Now I have to wait until ROC to do it.
