Ghana (any Sub-Saharan) Embassy...co-sponsor question....

Just a quick question when will a co-sponsor be requested if NVC already approved your I-864? Even if I am well over the poverty guideline (125% requirement)…what criteria will the embassy (in Ghana specifically) use in making a determination if my husband needs or will need a co-sponsor…I don’t want my husband to be asked to return to the embassy for any reason except to get his visa…

I have been seeing a trend with this…especially if all else is in order…

Is your job fairly new ? Has there been large changes in your income over the last 3 years ? If you are stable and well over the min. They shouldn't ask for one. If you are borderline and have had an income that changes from year to year then maybe you should line one up.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Ok that is good to know. I have worked at the same place for a long long while and my income has only increased since then. So it is more about the stability. So then I feel more at ease about that.
