Request for additional documents

Dear all,

I'm about to go for my biometric appointment this week and was quite surprised to see a letter from Homeland Security in Missouri asking for additional documentation.

The documentation is THREE years' of joint tax returns for my wife and I - not a big deal as we hadn't completed the third year of returns at the time of the application for naturalization.

The strange thing is that they don't want me to mail them, they want me to bring them to 'the naturalization interview'.

I don't have a naturalization interview yet scheduled. Should I have already received an interview date (I didn't think they did them until after the biometrics?) or is this par for the course?

TIA,

Mark

I think this is the famous yellow paper which prompts you as to what docs you should add to the bunch of docs you would probably take along with you when you are officially notified for your interview by your local office. I got mine the Saturday before my biometrics on the following Monday. After the biometrics, my status online changed to 'interview and testing' and the accompnaying statement said my case has been sent to my local office for the above subject to be scheduled. Yet to receive my official interview letter though.

So I guess you should just follow the process and you will be fine. Many of us are in this same boat with you. No sweat! G good luck!

This is normal. My friend sent in his N-400 application without supporting documents besides copies of his green card and marriage certificate. He brought all supporting documents all at once to the interview.
