Married, how to change name?

I'm a Chinese, married with a Romania, I took his family name when we marry. (we ask Chinese embassy in Romania before, they say no need to change. but then immigration office require to change, the stupid thing is my green card is in my maiden name but their need my passport on my married name!!!!)Tons of problem comes.

1. Immigration office in Romania require me to change my passport accordingly, but my green card is in my maiden name.

2. I contact the Chinese embassy in Romania, they refused to change passport for me. Their reason is they never do this before, and I'm still a Chinese, Chinese never change their name upon marriage.

3. I try to change my marriage certificate, but marriage office told I'm can't change since I'm a foreigner. If I want to change, I need to divorce and marry again.

4. If marry again, I need to make all the birth certificate, unmarried certificate again, notary in 1 time, legalized two times, in China, then go to Romania get the non-impediment paper again...

Please kindly advise, how can I change my name on my Chinese passport?

any US Citizen for husband or wife? Most ppl who have these issues - one of them is a USC.

For a Chinese Citizen, to hold US Citizenship, must give up China Passport - usually they do it at a China Embassy when applying for visa in USA passport, the first time.

But - to change the passport name - this can be handled by the issuing office back in China - expect some wait, as well.

I have heard of it being done at the China Consulates/Embassy in USA, though, for those PRC ppl who want to change their name after marriage to a USC.

Sorry for the pain, can't speak of any experience with Romania - it's not something covered here, for PRC person. I THINK, since you hold USA green card, though, you can at least get that changed via the US Embassy in Romania. (MAYBE? )
