Confused... Need to send DS-230 + all supporting docs, or just the checklist stating YES we have obtained these documents

Hey lovely folks,

Thankfully, our I-130 was approved by the Montreal consulate, and now they want the DS-230 (I + II) to be sent back to them plus a "Checklist indicating you have obtained the required documents"

This is what confuses us --> "checklist indicating you have obtained the required documents"...

The checklist shows items like: Passport, photographs, birth cert, marriage cert, police certs, evidence of domicile, affidavit of support, evidence of support, etc..

So, QUESTION:

Do we need to send just the DS-230 (I + II) and just this checklist (SIMPLY stating that YES we have collected the above checklisted items - whereby we will bring these documents with us in person at the Montreal interview)......., or do we send back the DS-230 (I+II) AND each of those checklisted items as well (ie, photocopies of passport, birth/police certs, etc, etc)?

Thank you for your answers :)

HI there. In London, we only send the DS-230 Part I and the checklist, and save up all the other docs to show at the interview. But I'm sure someone filing at your consulate will come along and help you shortly, to confirm if this is the case for Montreal. Best of luck!

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm too late to respond to you but I just came across your question (which I recently posted the exact same one). I asked an immigration lawyer to look over the letter stating the requirement to make sure that I was reading it correctly... and he also confirmed that we only needed the 230 and the checklist. No supporting documents sent at this time.

Confusing, I know.

Good luck!
