Darnell, Some good news. I got OPTIN acceptance email with GZO number for my son's case on Saturday morning. I spent most of my time on Staturday to get my son's document ready and fianlly sent the docs out on Sunday. I felt a huge load off my back. Now, I just have to wait.

Thanks for your help!

Yay ! That's great news !!!!

You should get some more nice news around Wednesday or Thursday, I think so !!!

Current forecast (by me ) - Interview Date 3rd to 4th week in July, 2010.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

AT some point, when you are logging in to the online payment portal -

you won't be able to 'log in' - is 'Sign In Fail' screen.

At that point, NVC has tagged the casefile(s) as 'documents complete' and then there's

some 'case complete' tag , then a 'final review'.

When the final review is finished, usually NVC sets the appointment for interview within 2 to 5 days.

Things go Fast after 'Sign in Fail' but keep eyes peeled for any 'checklist document email'.

Wow - such a lag - but at least NVC has it now.

Good Luck with NVC Electronic Processing !!!

The wiki entry, with a mini-how-to, concerns, errata, is over at http://www.visajourn...onic_Processing

Here's a topic on this forum for a 'recent case' http://www.visajourn...1451-uscis-nvc/

He drove it all, got it all done in a month. You might want to read it, there are good bits in it. He wanted to rush / push, his wife is pregnant and he needed as much speed as possible.

I assume you have 2 I-130 petitions in play, yes? You'll want to make sure they get 'married' together at NVC, so the mother and child have the same interview date.

hi darnell what is the dirrerence between an i797 and i797c

It's always a good idea not to hijaak someone else's thread - suggest you post back in http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/261047-i360-sent-but-got-i130-approved/ when you get a moment.

Darnell, you are right on the "Sing In Fail". I got that today for my wife's case. My son's case looks like still on going because I still log on. When NVC (or the consulate) setup interview date, how am I going to be informed. Are they going to send email to me or contact my wife directly? Are they going to send me some kinds of instruction on physical exam?

Now I feel I am in the last dash in a 10 mile marothon and hope nothing going wrong.

Thanks Darnell and have a good night!

NVC sets appointments for GUZ, if have GZO # .

You are notified via email about the appointment, appointment letter is sent via email to you and your wife's emaill address.

Physical Exam instructions? Maybe, Maybe Not - review Packet 4 (at the bottom ) at -

http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

in

IV Appointment Packet (“Packet 4”) section. The medical forms are in there. She can download all, print em out, get ready.

Suggest you call NVC one more time, insist with them that the 2 casefiles stay 'married' with same appointment date. They can do it, but must be prodded, sometimes.

This is rough, but close -

Sign In Fail then

Case Complete then

Final Review then

Appointment Date Set

all within a weeks time.

NO OTHER Consulate/Embassy swings it like this at NVC. I had some hopes that Montreal would, since is also NVC EP, but they have human problem in Canada (lack of staff, so schedule is abysmal)

Darnell. I updated my timeline. our interview date is set on August 16..

My wife's case went through NVC quite smoothly. My son's case almost made me depressed. When I sent my son's I864 and 230, I did not get an automatic response. So I called NVC and was asked to send again, still no auto response. Then call and resend, repeated 4 times from different email accounts. Eventually I got an supervisor and was asked not to send anythign any more before an investigation was completed. In a desprate attempt, I broke the big file into smaller files and sent all docs in three emails. This time, I got auto response with each email I sent. It looks like if you send email with too big attachment, no auto response will be generated. My wife's case email is about 6MB and my son is about 8MB.

The I was asked to send I-864W which allows my son to become citizen automatically. I read the instruction initially and thought that my son does not qualify and did not send in I-864W. (I sent in I864). When I sent in I-864W, I was told that my son's case was completed, no additional document can be added to the case and I should bring the original I-864W to the interview.

I already booked the ticket going back to China so I can accompany my wife and my son to the interview.

Have a good evening!

Both are dated July 8, 2010.

I did not see the word "Final Review Complete". Here is the body of the letter:

The enclosed information pertains to <MySonName>'s interest in immigrating to the United States of America. The National Visa Center (NVC) has completed its processing of <MySonName> 's petition, case number <MySonCaseNum>; and forwarded it to the American Embassy/Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC.

An immigrant visa interview has been scheduled for the applicant at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC on August 16, 2010 at <InterviewTime>.

the rest of letter contains detailed instruction on medical exam and documents needed for interview. The document list for my son does indicate that I-864W should be presented at interview.

Cheers!

hey ! thanks so much !!!

'final review complete' is not something you'd get any electronic/postal notice on, alas -

it's usually found out, with a phone call

no worries, I'm just trying to track this stuff.... it's ok if you don't have 'any record' of that timetick, at all. Appointment letter trumps most silliness, anyway, yes? :D
