Hey guys,

I was just wondering, I am not the USC I am the beneficiary.

When does the USC receive the affidavit of support?

Who sends it to him?

I am currently waiting on my packet 3 so I was just curious about my fiance's affidavit of support part

Did he not fill out an I-134 document, include financial documents, and mail it to you?

It can be downloaded here on VJ (Use the Downloads tab) or from the USCIS website. You will receive packet 3 from the consulate and that is where the request will be made.

Ohh ok

I kinda thought the NVC or my embassy would be sending that to him.

Ok that is no problem I know what he has to get for evidence concerning the affidavit as well so thats not a problem.

Ok I will get him to download the form!

That is great news!

I was wondering when he was going to get that silly thing lol

Correct - you will send it to the embassy when it's required.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Oh so I send it to the embassy when they ask for it. I am guessing they ask for it when in packet 3?

I was under the impression I did not have to send it in to the embassy I just figured I would take it with me to the interview but that does make sense

That depends upon the consulate. In the case of Manila, you present the affidavit of support the day of the interview.

17-Jan-10 - Filed K-1

26-Apr-10 - Approved

06-May-10 - Entered POE

24-May-10 - Married

22-Jul-10 - Filed AOS

24-Sep-10 - Biometrics Appointment

18-Nov-10 - Approved

29-Nov-10 - Received Green Card
