Anyone out there have any idea how long it takes to have an EAD resent in the post  ?

My approved EAD (check timeline) was returned to USCIS on 26 July thanks to the idiot known as the postman/mailman. I called the customer service center and requested on 27 July to have the EAD resent and I’m still waiting! I’ve also taped in big giant.. you have to be blind not to see my name and house number on the side of our sad attempt for a mail box! :D Just so the postman knows where I live! Postman has no problems delivering, bills & more bills, junk mail by the tone and everything else from USCIS by not my stupid EAD!

Just thinking if anyone else has been through this before might give me an idea as to when I should expect to receive the much waited for EAD :( . Then at last I can break free from this house and get a job, make some cash and escape back home to normality and kiss bye, bye to this immigration $hite! :D Yay!

You can not trust the 0800 number to resend the EAD.... make an infopass at your local office and get then to resend the EAD....

The Helpline has no access to do anything other than pass on a message to the office dealing with your case... they are not USCIS officers....

We've already followed your advice and we’ve made an infopass appointment. We’re hoping that maybe the stupid EAD will get resent before the infopass appointment as my wife really doesn’t have the time to take off work and I cant legally drive as I don’t have this stupid EAD! This process is total piss!

I had the same problem with my mailman and I went to the office to complaint about it. Next day when I saw the guy I asked him if he wants to know all my family so he can delivery our damn mail

;)

We intend to go and complain about it today in fact! I think our postman needs a good stiff boot in the clinkers for returning the EAD.

Is your Irish driving licence not good for 12 months here.... I know a UK one is?

Kezzie

I never held an Irish or UK driving license back home as I didn’t exactly have the need for a car. Unlike this part of the world, we had a thing called public transport.. buses & trains (buses here appear to only operate within the big cities?) and taxis plus I could walk to places… a car wasn’t critical to your survival back home as they appear to be here.

I don't think you can blame postie for this too much. I believe that USCIS tells the USPS not to deliver unless the name is on the mailbox, so he/she was just doing their job.

You hit the nail right on the head there.. back home we really did have good public transport… well apart from the time that bus eireann decided not to stop at the bus stop when we had to get to the air port!..

All I can say to the postman now is.. ####### Biscuits! :D

He’d better deliver the EAD next time.. I’m going mad with the lack of employment in this place!

Well someone is obviously to blame..

There was nothing stated anywhere that said my name has to be present on the mail box in order to receive mail from USCIS, at no point in time have I been informed of this by either the USPS or USCIS! I’ve received all mail so far from USCIS even my RFE!.. if the postman was doing his job then I’d say it’s safe to assume that I shouldn’t have even gotten the RFE as I’ve heard of people not receiving their RFE’s in the post and it being returned to USCIS in much the same manner as my EAD!

Until I get some answers as to why I have to wait another few weeks or months to get the EAD because an USPS employee decided to return mail from USCIS I intend to blame the postman for failing to do their job correctly.

I see no reason why people like myself should be made to suffer an additional wait with the extra stress... because of invisible rules that appear to be unknown to most people. It’s not right, not fair and I intend to get some answers.

Wow, woulda been real handy to have read that before we began our AOS. Anyway, it doesn't mention EAD cards, just permanent resident cards...so it's still very vague.

Oh well, doesn't matter now anyway. Our name is on our mailbox, and we're very frustrated that our EAD was returned. Wouldn't you be? My mediocre income just isn't cuttin it for us anymore, and we're extremely tired of living paycheck to paycheck. So if we want to be pissed off at the post office, we're damn well gonna be.

Thanks for the link though.

Yes, if anything you should be pissed off with USPS for not being more ####### about your mail. When I moved to my current house, the USPS refused to deliver any of our mail until we had both put our names on the mailbox and filled out a card with our names on them.

Actually, I really do wish they wouldn't have delivered our mail to us in the first place...that way, we'd have known something was wrong and could have got it taken care of before Aidan's EAD ever got approved.

I have truly never heard in my entire life that it was critical to have your name on your mailbox or else you don't get your mail. Maybe I'm just behind the times, lol. :P

You think that is bad.... my greencard was to be sent back because we did not have our name on the mailbox..... on it return journey to Lea's summit it got lost, so I had to file an I-90 and pay $260 to get a replacement car that took 8 months to get.....

Now how F**k up is that....

It does not say your name is needed on the mailbox, the USCIS states that mail will not be delivered if someone elses name is on the mailbox. If mail is returned by USPS it is solely their fault. People waiting for important mail are not to blame for USPS incompetence.
