alright so 10,000 a month is enough

Of course everyone in the family contributes some, but my wife earns about P6000 a month (give or take). P10000 a month, in the provinces, is a pretty good chunk of money. It wouldn't go far in Manila or Cebu but it's not too bad for Leyte. I hate even answering because it really depends on the situation just like it would here. Where does she live, how many people in the family, living conditions, on and on ... You and your fiance/bride need to discuss it and you need to ask a lot of questions to find out what she "needs". Ask how much things cost, how much is ur electric bill? How much is ur internet bill? There's a lot of variables Mikhail

above posters are correct, depends on her lifestyle and depends on her location...

but if she is staying with her friend, no kids, and living in the province then 10k is enough/ mon., but don't think that from that she can save a lot of money.. :P unless she have other income/ work...;)

Shes living in cavite and wants to get work at one of the factories, shes staying with a friend and they currently dont pay for food..but she needs money to be able to do all the little errands she must do like occasionally go to the internet cafe get a postal id, change her passport, cover transportation.then when she gets a place id like her to have money to cover her food and some xtra for some clothes. she does not need a helper or driver. my wife and hr friend just want a cheap place with no frills.

How about sending her a Visa Debit Card, then both of you can better track how much money she needs and where it goes? With a Visa Debit Card, she could withdraw cash from ATMs. You'd get a monthly statement, or better yet, manage the account online where you'll be able to see where the money is going.

Good news! According to this revised budget, if you send her Php20,000 / month, she will be able to cover all of her expenses, and also add Php3780 to her savings account every month:

Allowance...........$444.......Php20,000

Rent.....................150................6750

Food.....................125................5625

Internet café...........25................1125

Transportation.......20..................900

Misc.......................40................1800

Savings..................84................3780

Your mileage may vary.

so 5000 may be enought to get by if you have the lifestyle my wife has wich is just basic nothing really extra, but how is 10,000? 5000 more i want to try and send about 10,000 every 2 weeks unless i have the money to send more that week.

Wow! 20,000 per month, if that amount of money is just for herself, really that's a lot.

If she lives in Manila, she can afford an apartment, internet connection, air conditioned room, cable connection, plenty of food, and new set of clothes every month. She can live luxuriously.

If she lives in the province, 20000 a month can afford her all the above, pay a helper and a driver. You want to treat her like a queen, eh? She doesn't need to work with that amount of money.

I think 1,000,000 SGD is a lot of money, in the PI. Just saying.

A piece of advice from me. Please don't spoil your Filipina partner, as earlier mentioned by a vj member. I agree with her.

Average Monthly salary in Manila is Php8000-Php12000 a month. If she lives alone, that is enough for her daily needs. If she lives with her family, she has extra money on her pocket.

Those who have Php15000-20000 a month salary in manila are those who can become managers, or work for companies based on US that outsourced their jobs. Call center agents have 15000 to 25000 salary per month, and I tell you that's a lot.

In the province 8000 monthly salary is plenty of money to pay for her daily needs. If she lives with someone, and contribute to the expenses, she needs a couple or four thousands more.

If you provide your partner with this amount of money, your partner does not have to work at all, and just depend on you. She might abuse your money in the future especially if she moves in US. Just track the expenses, and talk about money with her. This will allow you to become financially responsible couple in the future. If you have a lot of money, then I say she is a lucky Filipina to have found you.

  • 4 weeks later...

The budget really depends...Mine is 800$ a month and live here in Manila..Here's my budget..Just want to share it...

800$ - Php 35,200.00

Budget:

Rent – 8,000.00 (Low end condo)

House help – 5,000.00

Baby’s Budget (Food, monthly pedia check-up & complete immunization) – 7,000/month

Our Food – 5,000.00

Electric & Water bill – 3,700.00

Grocery/daily house needs – 2,000.00

Transportation – 1,500.00

Internet & cable – 2,000.00

Misc..- 1,000.00

Total: Php 35,200.00

Babys budget Breakdown:

Milk – 1,200/can(3) = 3,600

Baby Food – 8boxes (56) = 448

Diaper – 1,688.00/month

Monthly shots depends( the cheapest is 900.00, 1,200.00, 2,500 and 4,000.00 and the expensive is the pneumococcal which is 5,000.00 per shot for 4 shots….3 shots and 1 booster )

Baby’s budget for the 1st 2 years is a bit higher…better to invest children’s health early.

Baby's budget varies, it depends on the scheduled shot. That's the only time i can save a bit and time for us to go to the mall. yeheeeey.....

I wasn't working anymore. Hubby wants me to take good care of our baby full-time while in the philippines.

First of all I would like to know if 5000 pesos is considered a fair amount of money. In the US, for me atleast, 500 usd is alot so what would be a pretty good amount in the phil

I agree with some Vjers reply here that its all depends on your wife's life style. As for my own experience 5000 pesos is enough for me per month.

I am living in a province area and I never ask money to my fiancee he just send me some which are good only for my Smartbro prepaid load, shared electric bills with my family, water bills, and for my personal needs, and some important things for a girl. I rarely have 5000pesos a month mostly he send me around 50 ,60 or 80USD per month. Even on that amount I still able to save some.

Sometimes if he do have extra money he send me more than that and I always keep it in the bank for some savings for when he will be here we have something to used for...

.Yes i really agree with some Vjers here that dont spoil so much your filipina girl because if you do they will be more demanding . For my own experienced being in 4 years relationship Money matters is not really our priority. or shall i say the monthly allocation.

Its up to you on how much money you want to send to your girl as long as you will never be end up into DEBT.

My wife nets about 5,000 peso's a month and helps to support her parents. It is hard to not want to spoil her. I could easily send her 20,000 peso's a month. In her wisdom though she agreed with what many here said, don't spoil her because she will get used to it.
