I have an interesting question.

I habe filed my ROC for myself and my 17 year old daughter..My NOA arrived today..I know her NOA may or may not show(being shes K2)

She has applied for college and of course because her green card expires in June the college wants proof of her extension.

If her NOA does not show up..I suppose I can take her to get a stamp in her passport but that doesn't tell the college a thing..IF her NOA does not show up in the next week or so..anyone have any idea what I should do?

Thanx

Colleges should have a counselor that handles International students that should be familiar with immigration laws. I beleive if you show her/him the GC and the I-551 stamp, they should be able to do their work and not refuse her admission or registration for classes. Your daughter, by law, has rights as a US resident and the college cannot ignore or violate them.

Talking to the right person at the college should do the trick!

Thank you for your post! I'm crossing my fingers that her NOA will show up this week but I'm losing faith. It would just be so much easier to give them a document that clearly states her extension..bottom line...I'm concerned that this means they will actually have to look themselves to see an expired greencard and the I-551 is perfectly acceptable..and we know what that means..haha.....I'm wondering if I take her for an infopass do you think they will give her an NOA? or at this point a stamp is all I can hope for?
