Yeah.

####### is up with Florida?

Minimal industry and tourists are not visiting as they were before... it does not help that the price of a ticket to disney gets closer and closer to 100 bucks every year... The property values are plumeting and in my area over 24% of all homes are in some stage of default... property values down 50%+ in the past 2 years...

When people were paying 150k for a lot that sold for 5k 3to5 years prior.. someone had to know the bottom would fall out at some point...

Since I started driving a truck years ago Florida has been known to always able to get loads to Florida but very hard to find any loads out of there except during harvest time and those loads were for specialized carriers. Made it very one sided industry and in fact the only place that was like this that I know of.

Yes. Moderate climate, jobs, and friendly people are way over rated.

Moderate climate compared to what? Hell?

Can't say Texans were that friendly maybe because I was living in a military town- Killeen, TX. Locals screwed over soldiers every chance they could get.

My personal favorite was the son in a pickup truck that held up a sign reading "Die, Yankee, Die" after he saw my Indiana license plate.

Where I live there are huge areas that would be great gardens or small farms but local zoning would not allow it... they really limit Agriculture here unless its a big corp with campaign contributions... it will likely be some time before the economy here even starts to slow and turn...

They just need to diversify more there. Live mainly by one industry then will die by one industry.

My personal fave is the, "welcome to Texas, now go home."

All military towns are just that. They either work for the military or cater to the military. The object is to extricate as much money as possible from the military personnel. I was also stationed in Killeen for a couple of years and any babes I was at was the same worldwide. Welcome to the military.

Whne everyone is shoveling snow and freezing I can usually be found at the golf course. Also when I saw Dallas with snow this past winter I was on the coast fishing. The summers are hot and it is humid on the coast but the good thing about that is the babes wear less clothing.
