I agree with the other poster, take everthing but the kitchen sink. My wife had so much documentation, even the CO asked why so much. My thought is, it is better to have more than enough then not enough and get stuck in AP or worse, denied.

What I want to know is if the letter do not ask for any evidence, do you still take everything but the kitchen sink? and for those tough consulates like the DR, does the appointment letter state you should bring evidence such as photos, bills, etc?

the letter is the same I believe for others country they said they have everything and when you get there they ask for everything.. per example the police certificate is valid for 30 days I sent one to NVC but at the time of the Interview this will be expired but in the list that came with the interview package it says that they have your police certificate and when you get there they ask for a new one..so if you dont have this with you they can give you an open cita or put you in AP...I prefer to carry with everything and not to come back to that consulate

You might want to review the I-130 instructions again.

There's a section in there covering evidence, 6 different types.

Now that yer petition has wound it's way over, and yer getting an interview date soonish,

you really should re-enforce / re-work that stack of evidence, bring the 'updated stack' into the Interview on Interview Day.

If you can't find the instructions on the I-130, let me know, ah ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

now, I have to take a look at everything. Now my phone bill is up there in the hundreds per month because we talk so much on my landline and my cell. She is not the best with computers so she never did the skype thing. Would have saved a ton of $$$$$. So I have months of phone bills, pictures of us together, postcards, and we know everything about each other. can't think of anything else in terms of evidence, but now I aim to be fully prepared. I am flying all the way to Aruba, then from Aruba to Caracas to be there with her for the interview. I only want to do it once.

You may also want to check the US Embassy's website in the country of your interview. There, we found a list of documents to bring to the interview and some other instructions about fees, etc. Also, you definitely need to bring any and all information that supports that you have a bona fide relationship. (by the way, we are considering bringing the kitchen sink, as well) Good luck!

Here's to families being together sooner,

WOW my case was completed April 5th and my husband still didnt get an interview date.

How in the world?? Does it depend on embassy???

Yes it does depend on the consulate and their 'work load' so to speak. You can try and call NVC with your case number to inquire if they have a date in their system for the interview, but it does not seem so out of the ordinary to not yet have an interview date given your timeline. Remember, once case is complete at NVC, the paperwork still has to make its way (physically) to Jordan, where the availability for an interview appointment will be evaluated and set.
