This is what I'd planned to have my girlie do. She'll have to fly to Manila and stay for a week with her brothers and I'm hoping this is enough time...whatcha think??

Medical Tuesday-Wednesday the 11th and 12th

CFO 13th or 14th

Interview on the 18th

Fly back home to Tacloban

Fly back to Manila after the visa is delivered, grab the sticker, fly to US next day

Will this be enough time??

Yeah that should work...they might have Merlaine take her passport to the embassy herself....but the rule of thumb is a minimum of 3 days before the interview for the medical.

To me you are pushing it. Better to have her do St. Lukes ASAP like next Tuesday PI time. Something can delay the medical. Like her period or scars.

She can fly in the morning go to SLEC at 1PM go thru the process. Normally 2 days but sometimes can be longer. She can do CFO also.

Plus she's going to be a nervous wreck doing it with YOUR timeline.

ALSO! Don't forget the weather. It's not always good enough for travel.

Yeah my wife was a nervous wreck even with just doing the medical and I was there with her...Having over a week would be nice so she can relax...of course yes you do have to worry about her having her period...

Thanks Dakine, I was thinking about having her go the week before I listed there and do the medical. I don't want her to be too pressed either. We're still talking it over to see what will be best but easier for her too. I really wish it was closer so she could just go get it done now and not have to worry about it at interview time. Tacloban isn't right around the corner though :(

i agree with Dakine..

personally, i would choose having the medical right about next week.. the earlier the better.. so as to avoid possible delays(like the well known sputum exam if they find any scars on the xray)and the period of course..

Yeah I had my first bene from Cebu go thru staying a couple hours outside Manila with her brother and doing the whole trip one time. She blew the interview and she was denied.

Second time she [different lady] did the medical 1 1/2 months early and stayed in nice hotel. Lotus Garden, a 5 minute walk from St. Lukes. Came back and stayed at the Bayview, across the street from USEM, for the interview.

She just got her US citizenship in January.

Your timeline is a best-case scenario. I hope everything goes smoothly for you, but don't be surprised if you run into any glitches and it takes longer. My wife spent 13 days in Manila to get everything done.

We're discussing it now on skype..lol She's gonna call PAL and check prices for a RT ticket. If it's not too bad, she may just go on to Manila next week, do the medical then go home. She can fly back for the interview and CFO later.

Have her do CFO when she does the medical. The nuns have been known to cause delays also. Like asking for a Certificate of singleness for the petitioner. Original transcripts of divorce, parents consent letters etc

Okay, settled that. She's going to go the first week of the month and get the medical done. She doesn't want to push it either. I feel bad because she was trying hard to be home so she could vote on the 10th. This will work a lot better though and there will be 2 full weeks between her medical and interview.

Thanks so much everyone!

If she wants to beat the crowds. Have her go Tuesday thru Thursday sfter 1 PM. have her wear loose fitting clothes. take cellphone, Know her POE,

4 US passport pics, 2 ballpens. NOA2 and appointment letter, make copy of her passport as they will take it and she won't get it back until after the USEM interview.

Don't go when in her period.

Dakine is right. I went to St. Luke's at 2 PM, straight from the airport, got finished almost the same time with my friends who were there since 6AM...

Normally 2 days but sometimes can be longer. She can do CFO also.

Actually the second day is for the results. If okay, immunizations will be given then just a little waiting, the vaccination record and Xray will be given too and medical process is over. She can then attend the CFO which only lasts for 2 hours. She can only get the certificate as she doesn't have the visa yet. Sticker will be given when she has the visa.
