Hello everyone,

Just wondering if a copy of my husband's (beneficiary) birth certificate and/or passport needs to be with the documentation for the I-130 form? I know mine does as the petitioner to show U.S. citizenship. I have read that it is no longer needed, but in the CR-1/IR-1 Guideline and the state department website states to have a copy of either. Kinda confused now, please advise. Thanks in advance.

We never sent a copy of either for my wife (beneficiary). It is required at the NVC stage...photocopy of current passport bio page and original and a photocopy of the birth certificate.

Removal of conditions Journey

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

When in doubt send copies of everything especially if there is mixed information out there!!!!

I didn't send in my husband's (beneficiary) bc either, just mine. The purpose of the I-130 is to establish that the petitioner is eligible to petition, a US citizen.
