I-94 number is on the I-94 (usually stapled to the visa/passport)

The visa number is on the visa (in the passport

Wait about 3 weeks after entry - then go to the SSA to get a SSN. (that will allow time for her arrival to filter into the system, and there is enough time left on the I-94 to get it).

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Make sure you read everything carefully too. Lots of different numbers.

Nonimmigrant visa number should be printed on your K-1 visa which is in your passport

The I-94 number is printed on the I-94 which should be stapled in your passport

There is also an "A" nummber (Alien Registration Number) that should be written on the back of the I-94.

He should be ale to apply for a SSN 2 weeks after entry and prior to the 76th day after arrival. Don;t wait to long or you'll have to wait until he receive EAD with AOS application. (Some applied sooner than two weeks after arrival and were good to go but typically it takes a little time for his name to show up in the system.

Good Luck!!!!

eeee. i'm guessing the I-94 # is the one printed right under "departure number"? 11 numbers?

and i don't see an immigrant visa number at all! i see "control number", "passport number", "PET N:", "A#", a number in red, and then a bunch of gobbeldy-###### at the bottom of the page :\

turns out our ssa office is only 8 blocks away! we're on our way now! thanks for the help :)
