Had Chirac drunk too much Perrier? He should switch to Heineken. Personally, I oppose war and prefer a world of peace and cooperation, non-military of course. Maybe my next move will be to settle in Switzerland (very low taxes I heard? But immigration laws there make it is difficult).

Taxes in that part of the world are very high, I hate war too,but sometimes it's nessasary! I would like to hear what you would propose to the insurrgents in Iraq if you had a chance! what would you say to them?before they seperated your head from your body!

"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war". Albert Einstein

To go back to Jacques, at least France has signed the NPT ("Nuclear Proliferation Treaty" or "Unclear Proliferation Treaty")

 Treaties dont mean squat!

I worry more about Teheran or Pyongyang. North Korea has withdrawn from the NPT and has thumbed its nose at everyone by telling the world it has nuclear weapons.

I also worry about the Bushies playing with new toys (look at what happened to that Texan lawyer last week). Robert McNamara, the Vietnam-era US defense secretary, wrote in the current edition of Foreign Policy magazine: "I would characterize current US nuclear weapons policy as immoral, illegal, militarily unnecessary and dreadfully dangerous."

Do you know what the policy is? or are you just getting quotes that agree with your way of thinking?

"Treaties don't mean squat"????

:hehe:

You're right. For your reference, Britain's American colonies broke with the mother country in 1776 and were recognized as the new nation of the United States of America following the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

Can Britain can now claim New York as a corner of Sussex?

Oh well....

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....

So much plenitude, yet so much emptiness
