My wife arrived on a K-1, and we put that her son will follow within a year. Now we would like to start the process of getting her son his K-2 visa. He lives in St. Petersburg but is a Ukrainian citizen. Despite my wife's Ukrainian citizenship, her case was sent to Moscow (because she was living in St. Petersburg) and that is where she interviewed. So my questions are:

1) How do I go about scheduling his interview at the embassy?

2) My wife was given an interview date with no choice in the matter. Will the son also be given an interview date or

can we provide some input as to when the son can travel to the embassy from St. Petersburg?

3) What will the embassy need from him prior to his interview?

4 )Besides his police certificate and medical exam, what else would he need at the interview? Will the embassy send

him a package like they did my wife (with what he needs to bring to the interview)?

5) Do I have the option of going to the Kiev embassy for the K-2, or will that cause problems due to the mom having

received her K-1 from the Moscow embassy?

1. Call the consulate and schedule the inte4view using the same case number

2. He will be given a date. You can try to choose another date after that, but you will have little choice but to take what they offer or what is available at the time you call. There is very little latitude for you. You can ask for "first available" and then ask if something later is available, but they may only book interviews x number of weeks in advance. Just call and try.

3. Dpends, maybe nothing. Kiev needed nothing prior to the interview. They will tell you when you call for the appointment. Basically figure the same documents you needed for your wife PLUS if he is of age for compulsary military service he will have to show he is registered and has a deferrment.

4. If they send a packet, then yes. Kiev does not send a packet for K-2s. They will advise you when you call for the interview

5. I would think you have the option. I know a recent case where the woman went to the consulate in Vancouver and the daughter went to the consulate in Manilla. But it does complicate matters probably more than having him take a train to Mosocw
