So I emailed my congressmens office today, and asked her if she had heard anything back from MTL.. and she says, "I just checked my schedule, the only time I have in the near future to look into your case again is on the 27th of April. I will contact you again after that".

I know it seems like forever .. but its less than 2 weeks till the 27th ... and after all this time ... at least you have a date that you know someone will do something.

Dec 25 2009 officially engaged

March 2010 - sent off I-129F

March 27 2010 - Vermont receives package :)

April 3 2010 - Informed through mail that cheque is cashed NOA1

May 28 2010 - RFE notification ( yeah Im online checking alot >.< )

June 5 2010 - RFE hardcopy received

June 18 2010 - RFE returned ( had done it June 7 - but USPS returned grrrr )

Contact your Senator and request their assistance. That response was unacceptable as far as I am concerned - and I worked in a similar position for a Member of Canadian parliament. We would never have said that to a constituent.

Ok, that comment really really really annoys me! I would also write a 'letter of concern' to the Congressman and tell him how his staff speaks to his constituents - the constituents who vote for him - or have influence on those who vote for him. This person is supposed to be working for their constituents-not going off on some sort of a power trip.

Thats kind of crazy, especially considering that this is an election year for congressmen. Guess who wont be getting a vote? :whistle:

The girl at my congressmans office is all about solving my problem right now. I don't know if its maybe because she doesn't see too many of these things at that particular office or if she knows that I'm about to be a tyrant, but she's pretty awesome.

Although the thought of not getting good news tomorrow is making me want to throw up. Again.

Oh Kayla....Im so sorry for your aweful situation. I really do hope it gets resolved soon. I asked my hubby to please "fire" the congressmans aid and look into going with a senator, but hes so afraid of "rocking the boat" that he wont do it.

Im so frustrated right now...I got so mad when I read her email that I had to go for a long walk to calm down, else I woulda told her where to shove her "schedule". It seems everyone we turn to just doesnt care. My husband even called an immigration attorney in St. Louis today, and SHE saiit was too late to help us. However "we are more than welcome to call if it gets denied, and we need to apply for waivers". :ranting:

I don't think it can really be called rocking the boat if there's no one in the boat to know it's being rocked. The aide at the congressmans office OBVIOUSLY doesn't want to help you out so she probably wouldn't give a rats hind end if you went higher up.

Some people don't deserve the jobs they've got. She's one of them.

That seems pretty cold to me and not an acceptable response at all. I would try the senator in your case and forget about the local rep. If they're not helping in an election year, then I would say it will be hard to get them to fight for you at all.

My congresswoman has an immigration specialist in the local office where I live which leads me to wonder how many people have these problems if they have specialist. Anyway, I am planning to send a letter to my rep's office tomorrow and hopefully they will help.
