ah ok :D

geeze some people :P

hi everyone, just want to ask if it's ok to ask for monthly support from your fiance or just wait for him to send voluntarily? or just wait for him to realize it's a responsibility or is it a responsibility really for a fiance to give monthly support? - aix

wait for him to realize it's a responsibility  he is already taking on the responsibility of filing the petititon, helping you with the process when the time comes, when the times comes flying you here, there will be lots of costs for the immigration process alone.

has he told you he'd provide "monthly" support before you come here? i help my fiance financially when there is a need, but don't send monthly support.

do you expect support for just yourself? other members of your family? there will be a point in time you should discuss finacial matters with your fiance so he knows what kind of expectations you have and you two can discuss them.

ok kool thanks for your nice opinion, i appreciate it.. :)

Dear aixaix,

It is not the responsibility of your fiance to send you money regularly. If he sends you, it is a gift. I know that the economic situation in the Philippines is not that good. Majority could have problems financially, but to impose financial support regularly on the significant other is inappropriate. :( This is my opinion. Just make this relationship work. You can discuss with him some financial issues and he might be able to help; don't expect a yes always; and most importantly, don't demand. It is important that you understand his viewpoint as well as he understands yours. Your post really disturbed me...I have to say something. This misinformation (fiance's responsibility to give monthly support), wherever you got it or whoever advised you on it, really gave me goosebumps. Take this please as constructive. No hurt feelings and...Good luck to you. (F)

Jo

thanks Jo, no hurt feelings really, that's why i posted it to ask opinions and advices.. just some people are quick to judge, lol.. goodluck to you too, it helps to find someone who can really give good advices.. Hope you get your NOA2 very soon! (F)

Well said.

yes thank you, that's all what i ask for, lol.. i wonder how many stones has been cast upon me, i hope they get their NOA2's , approvals, soon, lol :P

If you were married already I could see you asking for support BUT as a fiance I really don't see how you can think it's his "responsibility" to you.

hmm ok, thanks for ur kool opinion :)

if you ask for advice on a public forum, don't be sarcastic if you get advice you don't like...

Just FYI.

who's been sarcastic? me? LOL

Hmmm, ok. Thanks for ur kool reply.

no i like her reply, did u see smiley at the end? it's helpful advice for me, really.. i don't care about other posts i'm here to read and retain what is helpful to me.. ok? peace..

First, I’m not surprised at all by your questions.

It seems to me that a fiancé (especially one who will be responsible for supporting his wife, such as in your apparent case) should know enough about the current financial standing of his future bride to be able to identify whether or not she needs support. For me, any such support would be based on necessity.

How would I feel if after my future bride arrived in the USA I found out that she and her kids were struggling every day to find the smallest of comforts, because I was too blind to find out about their living conditions? How would I feel if after my future bride arrived in the USA I found out that she had been married 6 times before and has 7 kids, because I was too blind to find out? If either of these happened, I would feel awfully sorry about it.

What surprises me is all the mockery that has been written in this thread. It looks like a lot of cynical people enjoy trying to teach you a lesson, as if they have any good answers.

Maybe you can explain your financial conditions to your fiancé. Hopefully, he will be able to help you in some way, whether through better financial planning or through actual financial support. If he is not willing to help you in some way, then maybe “that” is a red flag that he is not capable of supporting you in the future.

thank you so much, i appreciate your advice.. finally someone is making sense.. (F) .. goodluck to you..

ellmoi aka aixaix,

a simple advise .... "first impression last" , you cant buy TRUST when you failed, by commtting DISHONESTY.

godbless!

who can buy trust? who commited dishonesty?

ellmoi,

It seems that the overwhelming majority here would say that it is not your fiance's responsibility. But that doesn't mean that he won't want to help if you're in a touch financial situation. It would be best to discuss it with him, right?

ok, thank you.

the real advise is " FIRST IMPRESSION LAST " the TRUST/DISHONESTY are the CONSEQUENCES in a RELATIONSHIP, specially at the start of the relationship and till you got married.

ok thank you, got it..

ok thank you, got it..

Don't get me wrong, i am a filipina too .... as ive told u in my 2nd post ... there's something wrong the way how u put up everything you say in your question, the impression made so fast.

Im reading this thread with my husband, there's nothing wrong in what ur trying to ask but it get bubbled when u put it together.

gudluck!

ok lang yun, :) , i'm not mad really.. maybe it's a bubbled constructed sentence and i put it the wrong way too.. goodluck din sa iyo..

your fiance has no legal obligation to support you financially. after all, you are not married yet. you, better than anyone else here, would know if he is able to do so. think long and hard before asking him about such as his reaction to that might be far less than pleasant.

ok thanks for your advice, i appreciate it..

Since this is relationship advice rather than visa advice you are seeking, I recommend you post your question on one of the following forums:

ok i will thank you..
