I just think ppl are entitled to differing opinions. Her question was answered earnestly by plenty of ppl - including those of phill. descent...so it's not like she was ignored or NO ONE answered her. I'm all about being understanding but I also believe in freedom of speech and beliefs. We can't TELL ppl what to think and what to say.

I am glad you are expressing your opinion....as for being understanding to ALL on VJ - what was your take on that wife/GF post? Should we include that? But what if it's cultural!! He's from India - so we should take that into considertaion?

Just wondering where we draw the line.

ooo ooo ooo i know the answer!

where to draw the line

:P

I guess the heart of this argument then is what exactly this means:

"Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users. "

I know it added to the personal enjoyment of the service of some others on here...I got the PMs :D

yes, I'm joking cos none of us are getting anywhere understanding each other...so when all else fails, let's just have a laugh and move on

it not for the fact that she loves her man she would not continue with the visa process

Ummm...what? So her lack of support here might make her abandon the visa process? ####### is that??

Melo- I really would love to hear your response to the wife/gf thread which you have avoided mentioning. honestly - with your telling us how we aren't supportive enough - SHOULD WE SUPPORT THAT kind of post? and if so...or if not - how do we determine who we should abnd shouldnt support.

That post was ridiculous and the bloke accepted he was just seeking attention... so to compare that to this is surprising... I maintain that what we need here is a supportive environment where people don't feel trampled on... like I said it is not necessary to be nasty... if you find something distasteful as I did the post you have mentioned, just ignore it...

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

All i have to say is not all Filipino people are greedy and ask for money every month. My wife and her family treated me very nice during my stay never asked for a dime not even a penny.

I did not ignore your posts coz they were directed at people who you basically trashed... and that is simply not on... cut the ####### about pedestal... if i were such an angel I would have phrased my words to you in the most diplomatic of language... I chose not to... perhaps coz I felt it time you got a dose of your own medicine.

My wife and I both thought that thread was in very poor taste, joke or not. I agree, that at first, I thought it was very serious, and was getting ready to open up with both barrels!!!

Cian, Lisa, sbgwolf... you guys are killing me!!! LMAO!!!

Icey, I am so thinking what you are thinking!!! This will make the perfect replacement for "Am I Overreacting"!!!:D

Laura, thank you for the compliment. I appreciate that.

I am quite sure the person who PMd Melo was LuzyC, which doesn't surprise me. She complained about this thread, then started throwing insults and calling people stupid. She should have stopped reading it if it bothered her so much.

Melo, I understand what you are saying about support, and as Lisa pointed out, there are plenty of times we, as a VJ community, have supported each other, and hope that we will continue to support each other. Its only the cases that come across as a little shady, or questionable, that can draw a lot of fire. Not always are the attacks fair, and no, they don't have to be so harsh.

Well, this has been an enjoyable way to start off my morning... carry on!!! :D

Basically you think it is your right to run people down to trash people and to be nasty using it is "your opinion" to do just that... I am more than capable of standing up to you Lisa... I am not cowering in fear - or running away scared of what you and your clique have to say... you don't like what I have said and and have labelled me a hypocrite and another of your cronies calls me insufferable... you think it is your god-damned right to sit in judgement... perhaps you should tell the uscis that you could do a better job than they can and you don't need the info they ask for... all you need is a paragraph on which to base your judgement... what you want is a yes person who agrees with your stance... and ####### the rest... I will never be that... never was and never will be... I can stand up to bullies... so go right ahead and say whatever you wish... indulge in some character assassination too... would not put that past you. After all I am enemy no. 1 now... I actually dared to say what's what... and it is a what's what that you don't like... Again call me anything you want I don't give a flying **... but stop trampling on newbies who can't fight back... who are intimidated by you...

Hey you know how would you like it if I said your man is only after a green card... who knows... maybe he is... that is a risk all of you run - like it or not... loads of people want to make it to the USA from countries that you consider allies and not high-fraud countries...

Lisa? You have a clique? And you DIDN'T INVITE ME?????? *mad*

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

This thread was not about USCIS. It was a relationship question that asked nothing about process or procedure or green cards or interviews.
