Alas you seem to think that asking you to be polite and leave out words that are judgemental such as gold-digger and green-card seeker is asking you not to express an opinion... sad that you think that way... Do you even realise what an impact you have on all who come to this forum and read the nasty accusations you level? I am not going to tell you the name of the person who sent me a pm (not the OP) - but she basically said to me that given the manner in which people are treated here she feels discouraged and were it not for the fact that she loves her man she would not continue with the visa process... I find that a very sad thing... that far from finding support here that people feel discouraged. This community has been so supportive and caring of me... there are people I will always feel indebted to for the manner in which they were there for me - I include Lorelle, JayLen, JayJay, Nayalamb, welshie, Tracy, Gwen, Dean, Arijit, Jamie and Vipul, and so many others, too numerable for me to list... I find it tragic that this same community has become so lacking in support to others.

omG I LOVE the 'I got a PM from someone who agrees with me' validation! Tbh, I don't care about some random PM you got...if the person doesn't want to come out and express his or her opinion for everyone, the opinion is irrelevant.

If anyone has an ounce of intelligence...rude responses to 'hey I just got engaged can I have some money now?' should not devalue vj as it is not indicative of the support amongst people who put forth legitimate concerns and questions. In fact, if I were a newbie *and to some I very well may be*...I would look at something like this and get the impression that probably-fraudulent scenarios such as this one weren't welcome here, because the site was trying to maintain it's integrity...

I am not sat here saying my picture of America with a target wasn't rude...of course it was. But I felt the original question was rude, and I'm not about to help someone get information on how to go about bilking her fiance for money. If the relationship is legit, all she would have to do is ask...not get background info on what'sacceptable and what isn't. So since the original question was rude (TO ME), I replied in kind. And I'd do it again, unless otherwise instructed by Ewok.

Melo, you keep throwing this 'judgemental' word around when it's funny that you're quite judgemental when it comes to me...oh I get it...you gleaned that impression from several posts and not just one, so it's ok. :) Now unfortunately, I don't have as much time for you today as I did yesterday, so any further bickering might have to wait until later ;)

And I see you even played the "PM Card"....how nice. Oh yeah? Well I've received 839.2 PMs from people telling me that they want to leave VJ because you're so insufferable.

VJ Sheesh

My advice to your future husband is:-

RUN, RUN AWAY, RAN AS FAST AS YOU CAN,

my thoughts to you is:-

TAKE SOME PRIDE IN YOURSELF, SHOW YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND THAT YES YOU MAY NOT HAVE MUCH BUT YOU CAN AND WILL DO ALL YOU CAN TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND YOU ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A FREE TICKET TO A US BANK ACCOUNT...

Of course maybe that is what you are looking for $$$$

it not for the fact that she loves her man she would not continue with the visa process

Ummm...what? So her lack of support here might make her abandon the visa process? ####### is that??

Melo- I really would love to hear your response to the wife/gf thread which you have avoided mentioning. honestly - with your telling us how we aren't supportive enough - SHOULD WE SUPPORT THAT kind of post? and if so...or if not - how do we determine who we should abnd shouldnt support.

I just think ppl are entitled to differing opinions. Her question was answered earnestly by plenty of ppl - including those of phill. descent...so it's not like she was ignored or NO ONE answered her. I'm all about being understanding but I also believe in freedom of speech and beliefs. We can't TELL ppl what to think and what to say.

I am glad you are expressing your opinion....as for being understanding to ALL on VJ - what was your take on that wife/GF post? Should we include that? But what if it's cultural!! He's from India - so we should take that into considertaion?

Just wondering where we draw the line.

ooo ooo ooo i know the answer!

where to draw the line

:P

I guess the heart of this argument then is what exactly this means:

"Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users. "
