hi everyone, just want to ask if it's ok to ask for monthly support from your fiance or just wait for him to send voluntarily? or just wait for him to realize it's a responsibility or is it a responsibility really for a fiance to give monthly support? - aix

wait for him to realize it's a responsibility  he is already taking on the responsibility of filing the petititon, helping you with the process when the time comes, when the times comes flying you here, there will be lots of costs for the immigration process alone.

has he told you he'd provide "monthly" support before you come here? i help my fiance financially when there is a need, but don't send monthly support.

do you expect support for just yourself? other members of your family? there will be a point in time you should discuss finacial matters with your fiance so he knows what kind of expectations you have and you two can discuss them.

Dear aixaix,

It is not the responsibility of your fiance to send you money regularly. If he sends you, it is a gift. I know that the economic situation in the Philippines is not that good. Majority could have problems financially, but to impose financial support regularly on the significant other is inappropriate. :( This is my opinion. Just make this relationship work. You can discuss with him some financial issues and he might be able to help; don't expect a yes always; and most importantly, don't demand. It is important that you understand his viewpoint as well as he understands yours. Your post really disturbed me...I have to say something. This misinformation (fiance's responsibility to give monthly support), wherever you got it or whoever advised you on it, really gave me goosebumps. Take this please as constructive. No hurt feelings and...Good luck to you. (F)
